Phil Haddy (Iowa sports information director) calls the KCJJ report on Lickliter "completely false." according to @scottdochterman

Which could mean one of two things:
1) they're completely false
2) they're false today, because we don't want to announce until after the tourney

Or:
3) the ink's not dry on the severance agreement

This is what I'm thinking. There are just too many reports today for this all to be 100% fabricated. Too much smoke for there to not be any fire. The announcers on t.v. are even talking about whether or not Lickliter will be back next year.

I have a REAL hard time believing at this point that Lickliter is coming back next year.

Because "no comment" = confirmation. This part of the PR dance. Phil (who is a great guy and great professional) has no choice but to deny.

If there was anything to the story, it would have been mentioned on more legitimate sites than one radio station's twitter page.

So you are saying that everything we've been hearing all day long is completely fabricated, because Phil Haddy says so.

I'm sure you will be back to admit you are wrong if Lickliter does indeed resign, or is fired.

I think that Phil woke up from his nap, heard the rumor so he looked into the quartz crystal that he carries around his neck, saw the future and his reflection in the crystal. His reflection spoke to him about the rumors being false so he released his press release before anyone from the Athletic Department gave him a real press release..."I am ZARDOZ"

I'll say this about Phil. He is a goofy looking guy. I'm not saying that to be mean; he's probably a nice guy, IDK. but he's not gonna be in GQ magazine anytime soon.

I absolutely will admit I'm wrong....if I'm wrong.

Listen....I'm just not willing to believe something that is posted on the facebook page of some tiny, insignificant radio station. For all I know, they may doing this to get some free publicity.

Why would Haddy and Moore (?) say this is completely false if it were not? I understand not wanting to disclose anything if Lick was in fact leaving....but they would look awful stupid to say it is not true only to turn around in a couple of days and say it is. If this story had legs they could either deflect it some other way or else just say NOTHING.
