We get a pick at mid field late in the third and go conservative and hand off up the middle three times, punt. Then we get the ball back again... all conservative again then pull out a trick. Then we continue to leave ARob and the rest of the starters in just to hand it off? We get ARob dinged up and nearly lose a lineman?

If your going to just hand it off, put in the subs.....DUMB

I just find it hilarious that nobody's allowed to complain about anything when we win, and nobody's allowed to complain about anything when we lose.

I was glad to see we didn't let up for once, but there will be legitimate finger pointing if Vandervelde misses any game time.

I saw him after the game, no limp, and he said "nothing a week's rehab won't cure".

And there are SOME things that are just stupid to complain about after a win. Going conservative from the last series of the 3rd quarter thru the final whistle when you're up 37-6 over the #5 team in the nation falls into that category.

They didn't let up in the first half at all. They could have let off much sooner (God knows we have), and they kept pouring it on. When the game was seriously not in doubt, they let off.

And the trick play was pulled out for two reasons (IMO): 1. MSU kept calling timeouts, so we went for a big play, and 2. we were trying to get DJK the receptions record in a BIG way.

Right on- maybe you meant it this way or maybe not... but as much as i love to yell about how frustrating our offense can be at times (to me)- it was great to see Iowa throttle this one into "coasting" mode.

Exactly. When we play like that through three quarters, I'm 100% fine with coasting in the 4th. Hand it off til the sun goes down when we're up 31. Up 14 early in the 3rd? I wanna see another score (at least). But 31 is sufficiently dominant for me. That it isn't for someone else means that person probably IS one of those guys that won't be happy until we go to the spread and score 50 every week (as much as I hate seeing that accusation get thrown around here, it fits in this case).

I was perfectly content with the way the game went in general. At some point though, you just expect more of the backups to be out there. Maybe we didn't because MSU didn't? I dunno, but then it also seemed like there was quite a bit of gamesmanship yesterday between Dantonio and Ferentz.
