Percentage of Points from the FT Line

Iowa is second in the conference in percentage of points they get from the FT line (conference stats only)

It's interesting that MSU and Indiana are #12 and #13 respectively ... two schools that traditionally like to make a living on the line.

More, IMO, junk analytics. Is an indicator of how often a team drives to the basket. IU's percent is going to be low, this year, because their offense is on the perimeter...this year. Same with MSU. Most of their offense is on the perimeter...this year. How do you suppose Izzo feels about those stats?

What's more important, IMO, is to compare the points by FT for a team that doesn't traditionally drive to the basket. If ISU's percentage of points by FT is low, is that necessarily bad? What if ISU's points percentage by FT is high? What's ISU's percentage of points by FT compared to Kentucky's? If your offense has aspects of strong perimeter shooting coupled with a high percentage of FTs to points made, you have an offense that's well rounded and difficult to defend.

As a side note, I've always wondered why Wisky has such a low number of fouls called against them. Do they make sure to not foul a shooter? Make sure not to foul down low? Pay off refs?

Call it want you want ... I'm not here to debate it. In fact I agree with your points - style of play matters. It was simply an observation. That said, as of this moment the top 4 teams in the conference standings are also the top 4 teams in this stat. Probably just a coincidence. ;)

Wouldn't the top teams in the conference be most likely to be getting fouled at the end of games (as other teams are trying to catch up)?
