It sounds like things are going from bad to worse for PSU in the Sandusky scandal. CNN is currently releasing emails that incriminate several high ranking Penn St officials in the cover-up of Sandusky's crimes.

What sickens me is the fact they were covering up for a pedophile. We're not talking about illegal recruiting, covering up a cheating ring, or breaking a few ncaa rules but ignoring and covering up something that in my opinion ranks right up there with murder. All because, they wanted to protect their school and "brand" name while ruining the lives of those affected by it. Disgusting.

Only tarnished to outsiders. I'm here to tell you, FM, that if teh nittany rapists go 11-1 this season, no one in their alumni- or fan-base will give a second thought to sanderpsky or scandal or anything remotely involving strong moral fiber.
They'll just beat their collective chests and shout "we are! penn state!" from the rooftops. They'll act like truth and history don't exist.

Easy to blame PSU in its' entirety. It wasn't the vast majority of what makes up the institution. Wasn't the vast majority of players, wasn't the vast majority of fans, ad infinitum.
It is disturbing to me, admittedly not a strong supporter of liberals in education, or university administration, that they actually put in writing thoughts of being humane to Sandusky.
There are people who this hatred should be directed towards. Justifiably. I need to be careful not to indict the entire institution, that includes 18-22 year old student athletes, who just want to win football games. Some might even want an education.
They're victims also. Not remotely comparable to the abused children. My only point is that the consequences of Sandusky's actions are far reaching. If he wanted to make it big (in a bad way), he certainly succeeded.
