Said what Kirk did was worse.

I was hard to tell for sure from the replay, but it looked like strap of the hat he swung at the ref, hit the ref. Pretty hard to justify you get screwed when that happens.

Ferentz was hot, no question about it, but at no point did I ever see Kirk take something and act like he was going to throw it at the referees face. On the replays it looked like the strap of Pelini's hat hit the referee in the face. A very classless act.

This is impossible. He only chews gum. He never shows any fire or emotion. BTW, I had the binoculars on him and his language was not fit for the dinner table, I can assure you!

Didn't need binoculars...TV caught it pretty well. LOL

The only "chicken S$$t" is Bo Pelini. He's acted like that since the day he was hired. I was shocked he wasn't fired after his meltdown against Texas in the Big12 title game.

He dropped an ungodly number of F-Bombs on the sideline today, and then treated the sideline reporter like crap at half-time.

Maybe KFer deserved a flag. KFer was yelling an obscenity or two in the fourth quarter. But he didn't get the flag. Maybe, just maybe, refs are sick of Bo. Maybe, just maybe, KF knows how far to push.

And maybe it's time for Bo to go coach some place else, like the California Penal League.

Big difference between yelling which every coach does and swinging an object at an official.

Look prior to this game I thought Nebby fans were dumb for wanting to get rid of him cuz his record has been good enough to justify keeping him.

But the dude is an embarrassment and I wouldn't want him associated with any college I support.

??? Wow, he really is a giant butthole. He's a players coach..

Glad you see the light. I live in Big 12 territory and knew of this guy's antics before NU joined the B1G. He has history....

Bo got what he earned...he swung his hat in disgust, towards the ref, while letting fly with his F bombs...

I believe what Bo said about it after the game was:

Mongo just misunderstood...

During the post-game presser he spoke and acted in every way like a coach who knows he's gone. It was one long excuse and finger-pointing session. I don't necessarily think that Bo has to apologize for 9-win seasons and wouldn't expect him to. But everything from "Ferentz was worse and didn't get flagged" to "you (the media) had a negative impact on our team this season"...it all seemed like a guy who just wanted to throw out a couple f-you's before being shown the door.

Here is his whole response to the question:

“[The ref] said I got too close to him. I thought that was a chicken s*** call. Excuse my language on that, but I had never seen anything like that before. I’ve done a lot worse than that. I saw [Iowa head coach] Kirk Ferentz on the other side acting a lot worse than I act. I didn’t see a flag come out on him. The bottom line is they knew they blew the call. They blew it. They blew that call over there on that third down. Everybody in the stadium knew it. They just didn’t man up enough to pick that flag up.”

Was about to post the full quote. Thanks for doing so.

Basically, he refuses to take responsibility for his actions. When I lose my temper (and I do it a lot), it is MY fault. I own that. Bo refuses to do that.

I agree with another poster that he should not have to apologize for an 8-4 season. He shouldn't have to apologize for 25 wins in three years. But he's not on the hot seat based for only the on-field record ...

Maybe just maybe if you don't "show fire and emotion" on every single call that goes against you the refs give you a little latitude?

Each day Pelini proves himself to be an even bigger punk and an a$$hat. When the guy swings his cap in anger hard enough and deliberate enough to cause the official to flinch and back away that's attempted striking and easily flaggable. He should have been tossed at that point.

Expect the conference to come down with at least a $10k fine and a letter of reprimand, if not worse. Nebby will have a hard time defending him.
