How many people think we got a definitive "No Thanks" from Bruce?

I'd bet money Barta never even sent any feelers out to the Pearl camp.

We heard plenty of rumors of who we had talked to, who had interviewed, etc. Except maybe for Hewitt at GT, weren't they all mid-major guys? Conference USA at most.

no disrespect to the question honestly...but who cares? it is what it is and we will see how it turns out...its all about the players he can get...
...I dont think there's any harm in asking this question. If you dont care dont answer it.
I think its pretty obvious Pearl said no. He didnt want the job 3 years ago and he didnt want it this time either. I cant believe some people think Barta didnt even send out feelers.
As far as Pearl not being interested, I have to believe it goes to the fundamental core of salesmanship and dedication that Barta is displaying for our Men's BB program. Did Barta informally send a:I think you're probably right about Pearl not being interested, but what makes me question Barta is the fact that Brian Gregory seems to be a better fit for this program(and I know im no expert) and we couldnt even wait until Dayton was done with the NIT before we hired the coach from Siena???

Its also possible Gregory wasnt interested. He mightve already "agreed" to take over the Dupaul or Seton Hall job when his season is over
I know a lot of people dont like Barta but we need to assume that he has checked with all these people. There is no time pressure to hire a coach so if Gregory wanted the job and Barta wanted him Barta would wait and hire him.
I think Bruce pretty well spelled it out more than once.
