Pavia

Just what the Hawks need prior to the bowl game -- a pissed off Heisman contender wanting to prove every voter in the country made a mistake when he plays vs Iowa.
We don't need that. I still have nightmares of Iowa's first defensive play vs McCaffery at the Rose Bowl.

Pavia is a tool bag. "F all the voters". Class guy. I really want the Hawks to roll his azz.

Not sure if anyone saw the ceremony last night, but the guy is a total douche from a douchey family. Here are him and his 2 brothers, who got arrested at his first game this year. They look like they're ready to audition for The Godfather remake.

Pavia appeared to be the most disliked sports figure I've ever seen on x.com . His douchebagery is likely costing him focus. Looking closer at his numbers, Mizzou and OU kept him well in check. I think the hawks can do similar.

So Pavia is the AJ Ferrari of football?

A swear these guys are cartoon characters. CTE already set in and no impulse control, combined with bad parenting and booze is never a good combo. Never seen it end well once.

These dudes are the perfect use case as to why phones should come preinstalled with breathalyzers.

Can we put a 2 minute timer on Heisman speeches and automatically cut the mic and cameras at that point? I mean for god's sake, that Mendoza speech was just brutal. It was like he had just found out he had cured all forms of cancer or just done a solo trip to Mars and back.

Kinnick's speech was two minutes and 45 seconds, and that includes pauses for applause. And it was the greatest Heisman speech in history.

Get up there, thank the committee, recognize the other candidates, thank your teammates, your coaches, your family, and gtfo. We don't need to hear about your parents' medical problems and how your 3rd cousin saved you from getting your seat belt stuck on a tilt-a-whirl when you were 6 years old and inspired you to be a football player.

Aside from a little douchebaggery, I'm generally here for it. In this mind-numbing world of coach speak and quarterback academics and managing one's brand, here is something a little different.

Homeslice was so far off the college football recruiting radar that he had to start his career by slinging balls at the well-known QB factory known as the New Mexico Military Institute. After a stint there, he and our old friend Jerry Kill team up to win 17 games in 2 years at New Mexico State, one of the most godforsaken wastelands in college football history.

Then he follows Kill to Vanderbilt, maybe the toughest place to win in college football. And he keeps racking up wins and comes in second for the Heisman. You can't make that story up, not after starting the journey at the New Mexico Military Institute just a few years ago.

Sometimes you gotta let the peacock fly.

Agreed. He has put a huge target on his back, and if he can win in a bowl, it will be pretty badass. But that sword cuts both ways, and there are probably a bunch of Iowa defenders who are motivated to put a little extra stank on those hits in the game, and there will be millions of CFB fans cheering for his potential demise.

Oh for sure. It's fun.

They should show that speech at the beginning of every Heisman Trophy ceremony just to show the young men how they should carry themselves.

Its important to remember that the new staff they put in place at Vandy has been imaginative and progressive as they've built this program using their own formula. Pavia was a big part but that program has taken an about face. They'll continue to be very competitive going forward.

Mendoza luuuuuves to get interviewed, doesn't he? The few I have seen he just brightens up and just loves it. He becomes an analyst when he wants to but doesn't really need to be. It's kind of weird in a way.

I get Manziel vibes from the guy. I'm guessing whatever happens with him in the pros is gonna end up that way somehow.
Same. Manziel 2.0 for sure. I'm guessing IF he does make an NFL roster, he won't be remotely looked at as a starter. I think he lists he is 6 foot. No way. I'm gonna guess his future is with the CFL. Although, I could be wrong. Doug Flutie carved out a decent career in between the NFL and CFL.

Although, I am guessing unless this dude gets a PR team and gets far away from his family and his agent has a come to Jesus with him, his draft stock is only going to plummet.
