Shouldn't we have more touches for Chaney. He could really be a nice change of pace to this offense.

Sandeman really doesn't offer anything.. He is small, slow and tends to drop the ball and or fumble.

I think Chaney could really help loosen up the defense as a deep threat. Short patterns as long as he is moving and not stationary.

We ran a reverse with him Saturday, when the backups were in. He was definitely looking fast. He's not as physical as DJK, McNutt, and Davis...which is probably why we don't see him as much. If he's really as fast as we think he is, I'm sure the Hawks having something up their sleeve with him. We just have yet to see it..

The problem is Chaney's not very good at football. He has a hard time changing directions and has poor body control. Sandeman has far more wiggle. Plus, do we really need more WRs that stretch the field? DJK, McNutt, and Davis are all deep threats. We need slot guys comfortable working the middle, like Reisner and Sandeman.

Sandeman has looked pretty good this year, and for most of last year as well. He's a solid slot receiver for us: decent quicks, good hands, tough. Stanzi has trust in him (I felt that 2 years ago when Sandeman caught 2 TD's from Stanzi in one game). Davis is not a slot receiver. He's gotten PT there because we also have McNutt and DJK, but Davis is a split end. Sandeman is a slot receiver.

he's a track guy who plays football. He's had his shots in previous years and other guys are just better football players. In the 40, I bet he'd get a lot of money bet on him but football isn't all about the 40 yard dash.

Chaney has made good strides. The issue is that we simply have 4 other guys at WR who are better. There is no shame with that.

That's a pretty ignorant take on Sandeman's skill set.

I dont think he has proven anything that warrents him to have a certain number of touches. On the other hand Ricky/KOK spreads things out nicely. Im sure he will get his fair share of chances.

Apparantly you are not watching what Sandeman does in the minutes he is in. He is having a very good year and although I like Chaney, I will take Sandeman all day long.

Sandeman is really the prototypical WR for Iowa. He's not the most athletic guy, not the fastest, but is a good route runner, plays smart and is very consistent in his efforts. You know what you're gonna get with him and that's why he plays.

Sandeman does have a limited skill set. He's a very solid "possession WR" and punt returner and blocks fine, but not much else. He doesn't have blazing speed and isn't very quick, but he does a solid job and has been very serviceable. I'd like to see Chaney get more touches, too, but he's undersized and really hasn't had much success on the football field. I commend him for sticking w/ it and hopefully throughout this season he'll get more touches, and his speed would stretch the field further than any other WR on the roster could.
