Past NBA stars in today's game.

Let me start by saying I'm young and haven't seen them in person but I have hundreds of hours of video on the old Lakers, Celtics, and Bulls. Some will argue that if you haven't seen them in person you can't form and accurate opinion. Let me assure you that I've seen current games in person and on tv and I promise its the same thing.

Jordan-Dominated his time, and would dominate our time. Plain and simple. Only difference I see are the faces in the posters.

Magic-I think in todays game and at his size he would be even more impressive today.

Reggie Miller-Picture Ray Allen. Then picture someone a little better then Ray Allen and who likes to get under your skin. Now your seeing Reggie Miller. Same numbers, just too good.

Clyde The Glide- I would love to see him play in todays game because he would force teams to play fast and smart on defense. I think his numbers would be somewhat similar.

Stockton-See jazz in the 80s and 90s. This decade would look no different as great vision and passing skills will always translate well.

K. Malone-Giant girl. Big men today would own him. Seen his game several times don't know if I saw him dunk once, took some cute layups tho.

Larry Legend-In his time he was amazing and far superior to others. One of my favorite players to watch on video. However he is the one person who's game I think wouldn't translate as well today. If you look at his numbers they are good but not necessarily top 10 player material. I think his biggest problem would be his speed and the speed of todays players. I believe he would still be great just not as dominant as in his day.

I tried giving an objective opinion and I know some older posters will drill me over Larry but I've seen the same thing as you guys and slow is slow. I see him as a mike miller today but a more dominant.

I couldn't tell ya. I stopped watching NBA when the dudes you mentioned left. I think the same goes for about half of the fans of the NBA. A week into his career, the NBA is praying Lin can bring fans back because they are so desperate.

The names you are bringing up are some of the all time greatest players in NBA history and they made the NBA relevant. Night in and night out they brought their A game, not like todays NBA game where the superstars turn it on when they want.

Only the bulls and the heat are fun to watch anymore.

You are full of **** re: Karl Malone.

Dude was a legit 6-9 265, ohhh and ******* ripped. He didn't play above the rim as much as some players today but you don't get to be the career leader in FT attempts in the NBA by being soft. Also he retired ten years ago, the leage isn't significantly more athletic today than it was then. It's not like we are talking about George Mikan in the 50's.

Ohh and here's my favorite... It's Karl Malone standing next to a pro-wrestler (hint Karl is the big one)

Ohh BTW, he could dunk a little also. Again bear in mind it's 265+ comming down the lane.

Once again, Duff owns the thread. The Mailman was sick - I think he and DDP took on like half the wolfpack and won.

Haha duff your funny. Lebron is 6-8 270 and plays aft. Who would he post up in todays league. Howard?

Small forwards are bigger than him today. I didn't say he wouldn't be good. Just that big men would own him.

Wrong, taller players did not own Malone back in the day nor would they own him today. This is someone that was still playing at a high level late into his 30's. There is not a power forward today that could defend Malone, let alone small forwards.

I went to a Bulls-Pacers game the year the Bulls won 72 games or whatever. Those teams fought like hell every time down the court. I would not pay money to go to a Bulls game today - I only go if I get a free ticket. They just half a** it the first 44 minutes and then the last four minutes or so, they actually play. I went to one Lakers-Bulls game where Kobe just walked down and tossed up about 15 shots in a row over Hinrich and had like 22 points in the first quarter. The Bulls just quit. There is absolutely no entertainment value to NBA anymore.

And Lebron is probably the best athlete in the history of the world. That's not an overstatement. You act like Lebron's physical attributes are a dime a dozen in the NBA, they aren't.

See Blake Griffin.

Ill give you that one but todays big men live above the rim its commonplace now.

Tell ya what. I'll help you out. Here are the all the opposing PF's for teams in the Jazz division that are averaging more than 20 min per game. You tell me which ones "would own" Karl Malone on the defensive end or on the glass.

Danilo Gallinari 6-10 225

Al Harrington 6-9 250
