Parker's Role?

Parker saw some significant action last year at RB and looked as if they wanted to get him touches on the field. I am wondering about this year and his role after switching from RB to WR. He is a smaller receiver. Will he be able to break thru into the rotation for significant playing time? He was getting time at RB but now seems to be a bit tougher road for a smaller receiver with his smaller size. I'm just trying to grasp what they are doing or thinking with him. Will his touches decrease this year? Anybody have any insight?

He will fumble early in a game and the offense will go into a shell to avoid turnovers afterwards.

I'm not ready to give up on this kid as a ball carrier. Granted he needs to sure up the fumbling issue but he obviously has the ability to be a dynamic play maker and create instant offense.

The thing is that he should be used in a bigger verity of ways. If he runs all the playbook at WR it will make the sweeps and screens more affective because teams won't be able to key on that.

Yeah, opposing defenses never see that wide receiver reverse play developing. It catches them by surprise every time.

I think he will win the Heisman at WR and break loads of records -Hawknick. I think he will be punished early and probably most of the season for past mistakes.

I doubt he sees the field much at wr...I don't think he can learn the complicated system in that short of time. But seriously, he should be returning kicks. I know he had a brain fart in the bowl game but dude was killing it early in the year. It would be nice to have a threat to take one to the house out there.

Hard telling. I think he'll be in the mix as a returner. They'll throw him out there at WR/slot guy now and then. Maybe run one of those quick hitting jet sweep deals every 3rd game or so with him. Or a gadget play of somekind. But I don't see him getting 5 or more touches any given game really.

I think his role will probably be a pretty small one. Not really an RB or a WR and KF and his offensive staff are not smart enough to utilize what kind of player he is.

Yep, kind of has that change positions, lose playing time, disgruntled I want to transfer to N. Illinois at the end of the year to play for feel, doesn't it?

His ball-security issues were certainly no worse than Wadley's. The bowl game fiasco was "ouch" to watch, but he showed definite flashes during the season.

I would think the jet-sweep/decoy types of plays are tailor-made for him.
