Everybody is over reacting. Calm down, nobodby bombed anybody. It is a football game. Am I angry, yes but Iowa should never have been in that game. They got destroyed.

Iowa State flat out just coached better and played better. It could be a long year, but I have already seen a fire all the coaches thread etc. etc.

There were a lot of head scratchers in how we played today, but this team just isn't that good this year.
 




Agree. Shoot for 6-6 and build for next year.

There are some beatable teams on our schedule.

Spread teams with good QBs just give us fits - today was Exhibit A.

+1 Stop with the knee jerks please!

If a veteran passer were to go against Iowa today, we would have been crushed. Congrats to ISU. That was a heck of a game. The problem is our fanbase has expectations that are too high. Let's go to the W-L prediction threads. Most of the posters on HN were predicting anywhere between 8 to 12 wins. With a defense this inexperienced, a new QB, and a new RB, the prediction is really a crapshoot. This team needs improvement and they still could reach the 8+ mark but you shouldn't be surprised if we're worse with a team this young.

We're young and we're beatable for those teams. Hopefully, Ferentz will get this team to improve and yes build our youth for the future.
 


THis is why I don't care as much about football any more...I think the OP is secretly an assistant on the staff. That's what they all look like and seem to think. Why get excited about a mediocre product and the coach refuses to get them up for this game. I wish mediocrity payed me $4 mil a year.

I agree but we have had this problem for several years now and they will continue to be on our schedule. Maybe its time to fix things?

Well it is a good thing that only 8 of the 10 teams we play the rest of the season run some variation of the spread then.

This is the worst D I have seen for the Hawks in a long time. We are not good. Over reaction? Did you watch the game?
 








The defense didn't play great, that's for sure. But I think most of us expected that. Vandy's innacuracy (and a few poorly timed drops) was the problem today and if it doesn't get corrected will be the problem all year.

Not every team has a hudini at QB so we've got that going for us.
 


Will Iowa adjust to the new young team...no. Will the coaching staff adapt to a new team...no. They will just go even more ultra conservative and Iowa will lose more games that they have no reason losing.

Isu is a pi$$ poor team and will not win many more games this year. But the Iowa coaching staff will just make excuses and will never change anything. Go for 4th and one and ACT LIKE THEY WANT TO win...no, why would they want to do anything like that.

Iowa has SO MUCH more talent than the clowns and this coaching staff wasted another game...I wish they would ACT like they want to win some games and show some balls every now and then. They have no courage whatsoever coaching. God someone might make a mistake (which we do anyway because they are unprepared).



What would other teams do if they didn't know exactly WHAT Iowa was going to do and HOW they were going to do it. Hell, sometimes this coaching staff is the biggest asset of opposing teams.

Pathetic...nothing more...pathetic.

Iowa deserves to be buried in the Big 10 this year. This coaching staff simply won't change anything...anything whatsoever, even if it means losing. But Iowa can always say, "Hey we were in every game that we lost," when in actuality Iowa should have won most of those games with ANY kind of coaching balls.

NW is licking their chops, as are most of the Big 10 teams this year...waiting to pull out all the stops while knowing exactly what Iowa will do. They know Iowa will not change anything. Teams that should NOT be in the game are because of no balls no surprise coaching.

Iowa might win five or six games this year when they should win eight.

To lose to as **** poor team as the clowns are is like losing to a MAC team. This coaching staff has no heart or fire and it is reflected in the team they coach.

Change anything? Hell no play exactly the same way so the oppostion knows exactly what we are doing.
