Over 10,000 NIT tix sold in 4 hours

A five digit crowd assured for 1st round.
2nd round will be maybe a 4 digit crowd at UMass? Someone see a problem here? Where does UMass even play - a lean to on the back 40?

Jon, off topic, but I really think you should write an article about the new difficulties of scheduling for power conferences coaches. So much weight is being put on road wins for the NCAA and the RPI in the last few years, yet power conferences have to schedule mostly home games because of revenue. Furthermore, road games in power conferences are much tougher because of larger and louder crowds in conference. I think it is a major disadvantage for medium programs in power conferences that land on the bubble.

SOS is largely determined by the quality of pre season tourneys you play. Few programs schedule quality road opponents, unless they happen to have home and home series with instate or out of conference rivalries ie Iowa v ISU. There are enough road win opportunities in conference provided you are good enough to take advsntage of the opportunities.

That's great and all but I've got a huge beef with the way the tickets were sold. I believe that season ticket holders have the right get the first crack but I don't agree with them having unlimited access to them and scalp them to make a profit. The reason why CHA was rocking for last year's game was because people who don't have the access to tickets on a regular basis were able to buy tickets. A friend of mine who is a season ticket holder agreed that not having the regular crowd there was able to pump life into CHA.

I'm like 95% sure that's how they did tickets last year

what is the lasting difference between four digits and five digits in your opinion

I said it in post 14. We should have been a 2 seed .. minimum. I can't argue against Kentucky, Virginia, or even Alabama. But Southern Miss? Baylor? UMass? Come on .. .. give me a break.

GO HAWKS!!!

Sounds like fans are reacting to the screw job vs. Michst. Having another raucous crowd like last year to start them out on the road to the NIT championship is ideal. I just hope we take the whole damn thing and Franny tells the press after that the committees were clearly wrong about Iowa!

I wondered how the ticket sales would do after so many were hoping for a big dance invite. Good to see that the fan base is staying behind this team. Great progress has been made this year.

The NIT committee, yes, but not the NCAA Tourney Committee.
