Other BIG college basketball

Not off to a good start, UConn is up 14 in the first half. Iowa needs the Big 10 to live up to their hype if we want to dance.

Ohio State and Marquette are having issues with condensation on the court. I feel like they should have been able to anticipate that.

Went to the UM game last night and they started awfully slow.
Trey Burke looked like he was trying a bit too hard and had a lot of bad turnovers.
Tim Hardaway Jr. looked like an All-American and not Burke.
GR3 goes about his business, I came away extremely impressed with him, he has no flaw in his game, if there was one, he wasn't assertive enough.
Matt Vogrich started and looked good from 3-ball land and looked to be a pesky defender.
Jordan Morgan still can't shoot from mid-range.
Mitch McGary is going to be a flat out stud...maybe not this year, but you see all the talent, he is just big too and will be a force on the boards.
Nick Stuaskas/Spike Albrecht are the "other" freshman that were very impressive. Stauskas can defend and shoot and Albrecht will be the perfect backup to Burke, he is a firey little dude as he stands about 5-8...he doesn't look like a whole lot, but the kid can play.

The team will go as Burke-Hardaway-Robinson goes unless McGary can really step up and give them that big guy that can be a difference maker. This is the best rebounding Michigan team that Belien will have had since being at UM. I still like all the talent that UM has and plan on them contending for the regular season title again.

Making college basketball assumptions in November is folly...making college basketball assumptions on the first game of the season in November is folly to the tenth power.

When Iowa lost to Campbell, UNI and some other soft losses last year, no one would have predicted them to sweep Wisconsin and beat Indiana and Michigan.

Slow down ;)

However, that Purdue home loss to Bucknell? I liked that one

Michigan State is up on in the last few seconds though they kind of just got screwed.

Wisconsin and Florida play tomorrow night. My head knows that I should pull for Wisconsin but my annoyance of that Activebadger toolbag makes me not want to do this.

The first of many games for the Badgers against teams that Uthoff was initially restricted to transfer to.

Idiot Bo Ryan, Florida? Really?

I've seen Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, and Wisconsin in early action, and a little of Northwestern. In terms of raw physical talent Michigan is loaded. In terms of being able to muscle out wins MSU still has that. I was not impressed with Wisconsin, I doubt they finish in the top half of the conference. They lack quickness and guard play will need to improve in a hurry.

As Jon mentioned it is too early for any projections with any accuracies.

When all is said and done, I think Wisconsin still finishes in the top 6, they went to Florida and got beat, but not embarrassed as I hoped. If Tim Hardaway Jr continues to play the way he has, Michigan will be the team to beat, they are very athletic, but they also have some big guys that can play. MSU/Indiana/OSU have physical big men, but for once, Michigan can actually put two viable bigs on the floor at the same time this year, hasn't been like that under Belien until now. Indiana is getting all the publicity and I think the other top teams in the BIG are liking that. Can Indiana perform in the spotlight?
