Completely agree on the song and the level of fandom. I think they're terribly overrated.

Would also say Lennon's abbreviated solo career was much better than McCartney's post-Beatles career.

Way too hard to pick one favorite. They have great get down rock and roll like Oh Darling, their early stuff with the great harmonies, the Abbey Road medley is just great song snippets stitched together, etc.

So who were and are your favorite artists?

Favorite band of all time is probably Zepplin or the Beastie Boys. I'm over 30 and mostly listen to talk now.

I can appreciate the Beatles in that they paved the way for a lot of the bands I like, the same with a guy like Elvis, and not particularly enjoy listening to them.
