OT: Taylor from Grinnell put up 138 points

Somebody is unfamiliar with grinnell basketball. For years they have played a unique style. No more than 10 seconds a possession. Also they sub 4 in and out every 30 seconds. Also little to no defense they rely on poor shooting. There are several 1/2 court shots per game as well.

I wouldn't say they play little to no defense. I saw them play a couple years ago and they pressed the whole game, going for steals on nearly every pass. Never once did I see them back down and simply allow the other team to shoot.

I've watched probably the first 3 minutes of the game. Nobody on the court is very good at all. Faith is comically bad. Missing layups all alone, airballing 10 footers, throwing the ball out of bounds continually. They, without exaggeration look like a 6th grade team playing a High School team. I don't think there is a kid on the court that is 6 foot tall. John Lickliter would easily be the best player on the floor. It is also mentioned that Grinnell scheduled this game against this team looking to try to break records.

God is their sixth man tho, he pretty good.

Grinnell BB 101

I was aware of the system they played and thought it was a cool thing. But this was taking it to another level because they HAD to have planned to feed one person looking to break this record. To me that kind of makes a mockery of the game and the record. But I'm sure they wanted attention and you've got to hand it to them, because they sure got it. Not many people would have ever heard of Grinnell basketball without their freaky system so good for them.

I'm surprised more small schools don't try something like that to make a name for themselves too. Try to out-Grinnell Grinnell, you know.

Half court shots? Really? Ok

100 shots in a game? I don't even know what to say to that. I have played lots and lots of ball in my day, I would like to see what this looks like in Grinnell. I'm wondering if it looks like a game at the Y

They won by 75 points! This does seem so bush league, you're up 40-50 points and still jacking up 3's!?

This kind of stuff(player scores 100+, team scores 200+) has never impressed me. It's obviously not normal basketball with two competitive teams.

I suppost the player was doing what the coach wanted him to do. The coach must have something wrong with him.

That article nails it. No other player took more than 6 shots. They were just toying with the other team. The dude just created a little space with his dribble and let it fly. If I was the other coach, I'd put 2 or 3 guys on him just to blow up their plan once I caught on to what was happening. Hey, next game have a guy continuously bounce the ball off the backboard to get 80 rebounds. Their normal system is okay but this was a joke.
