OT: Indiana coming back to Earth

Third straight loss, 4th in the Big Ten already.

Are they even a Top 25 team anymore? Worst yet, are they even a top half of the B1G team? Hopefully Iowa gets them at the right time.

unfortunately, that is what beating the sisters of the poor in the preseason will do for you. We should have done the same.....

Plus the name recognition always helps them.

we could beat them twice, finish 2 games ahead of them in the B1G, and they will still make the big dance while we would fight it out for the CBI.

They are tied with Iowa now at 3-4 in the league. Tied for about 7th or 8th in the league.
They were outscored by 12 in the last 6 minutes to blow an 11 point lead. I am relieve that it is the IU fanbase melting down tonite and not Iowa's for a change.

IU has a very tough schedule remaining. Iowa must split with them at least, but if we do,then I think Iowa could top them in the final standings, along with PSU,Neb,and NW and Minny....7th place would be huge for the Hawks.

I still think we need 10 wins n B1G for NCAA bid. But...I really think the Hawks have a pretty good team in terms of NIT-level competitiveness...

Are they a Top 25? Yes. But winning on road in B1G proves to be elusive for most B1G teams. Hawks got "lucky" in Madison and a "way-to-go!" in Minny. Still a long way off to determine if B1G is "best" conference, Dicky V and his USA Today commentary notwithstanding

As a Marquette grad I have been telling anyone who will listen that Tom Crean is an average coach. Good recruiter but average coach. Without D. Wade, Crean wouldn't be at Indiana right now.

Wed need more than ten conf wins to dance. We went 8-5 in the pre against a fairly soft schedule. We need at least 11 followed by a strong run in the b10 tourney

If this collapse continues Crean may be out of a job. It was a big mistake to get off to such a good start and raise the bar of expectations for this season if he does not get this turned around.

no chance. he has the same kind of contract as KF. he's not going anywhere. Plus he has a great recruiting class coming in next year.

BTT may be the key. Win 2 (assuming 10 conference wins), we are in. First-round loss dooms us, one win means NIT/CBI

I felt this way too until someone pointed out Penn State's resume last year. They struggled much like us in non-conference and had a bad home loss to Maine last year.

They were 16-13 (9-9) heading into the conference tourney.

If we can get to 18-13 (10-8) going to Indy, I think one win will put us squarely on the bubble and more than likely in and two wins in the B1G tourney would seal the deal.

At the end of the season the two losses to Purdue that could have and should have been wins will show its ugly face wishing we could have those games back.

True and I also think that if we could have beaten Campbell that would have gone a long way in making our resume look better. Would have taken away our ugliest loss.

Anybody saying Crean is on the hot seat isn't paying attention. He's fine. This year they weren't suppose to be any good anyway and next year was suppose to be their year with the top recruiting class coming in. Everything so far has been gravy for them.

Creans a solid coach. Not great but solid and Indiana will be back to really good in 1-2 years
