A couple of things to seriously consider related to Barnes going pro after his first year at UNC:
1. Does he have the brains/work ethic/AP scores to graduate in 6 semesters? If so, could summer school help him earn a degree as early as May 2012?
2. How will a potential 2011-2012 NBA lockout affect his decision to turn pro?
I see him staying for at least two years. Since Roy Williams took over at UNC, only one player (Marvin Williams-2005) stayed at North Carolina for just one year, and he has been a considerable disappointment in the NBA.
PS-I really wish people would get off his back about the way his announced his college choice. He's an 18 year old kid that decided not to go to ISU, even though he held the press conference in Ames. Did we ever consider that maybe the PC was planned before he had crossed ISU off the list? I felt his PC was extremely respectful of Iowa State and the people of the university, and to compare it to LeBron's "The Decision" (where he never mentioned Cleveland even one time) is way off base.
