OT: Cubs lead 4-0 in 5th inning

This. Mopkins doesn't have a clue if he thinks Arrieta was head hunting earlier in the game. Just a couple pitches that got away from him. The first was heat that ran in high and tight, and grazed the batter's hand. The second was a breaking ball that got away. NEWS FLASH: If you're going to bean someone intentionally, you don't do it with a breaking ball.

When Arrieta was hit, that clearly was intentional. Maybe Arrieta could've just gone to first without saying anything, but I don't blame him for talking some.

If you watch the replay, the Pirates' catcher was actually barking at Arrieta. I think that's what made him start talking. Of course if it appears their ace is going to get into a tussle, the rest of the team is going to get in between them.

There's been Cubs threads on this board for years. We've been here.

I meant more in the world in general. My Facebook and Twitter was lit the f up last night with Cubs "fans" who I've never seen a single baseball related thing from

Also I'm a cardinals fan so there's nothing I find more annoying than bandwagon Cubs fans :)

I'd say act like you've been there before...but you haven't

Good luck on Friday Mopkins, it'll be a great series regardless who come on top for the series.....truly one of the greatest rivalries in sports

Im a Cubs fan so there is nothing more annoying than know it all arrogant Cards fans. I'm not on Facebook, but I do get to look at a Cubs thread and see that arrogant Cards fan telling everyone how that should act/celebrate victory.

So so I guess we all got it rough these days.... :)

I think the Cardinals matchup better against the Cubs, but I wanted more than anything for the Pirates to win last night. I'm not sure I can handle the Cubs knocking the Cardinals out of the playoffs. Just the thought of it makes my stomach sick.

The Cards are so beat up right now its not even funny. Holliday can't run because of his quad, Grichuk can't throw because of his shoulder, Piscotty got literally knocked the f out last week, Yadi has a messed up thumb...its not pretty. On top of that the Cards pitching is suddenly getting lit up.

I have less confidence in this team than I did the 2006 team. I guess that turned out alright

I'll bet you are a soccer fan and like other effeminate sports.

If you look back just a few posts in this thread wise man, I suggested watching baseball is like watching soccer. BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't touch no one, no scoring, slow, standing around. BORING = BASEBALL + SOCCER X 2

we get it, you don't like baseball. You can stop responding to a baseball thread now.

Only boring if you have an attention span of a gnat.

Well yeah, I'm sure that's true. Just like my dad at some point decided that he's a Yankees fan even though we were midwestern people.. Ok. Sports in general are riddled with bandwagon fans.

The Cubs haven't won much to beat their chests about yet - last night was just the first step. 11 more W's to get. I'm sure not getting big-headed about it. I remember 2003 too well.

As a Cubs fan, there's nothing more annoying than a Cubs thread getting lynched by Cardinals fans.. :p But, it's a rivalry. It's to be expected I guess.

People are going to hate Cubs fans by 2020, it will be worst than Boston fans in the 2000's. The Cubs are going to win a ton of games the next several years, no matter what happens this postseason they will be overwhelming favorites to win it all (repeat?) heading into next year.

I absolutely agree that the Cubs will be right there (odds-wise) with just about anyone next year, especially if a front-end starter and a couple bullpen arms are added but it sure doesn't look like the Pirates are going anywhere anytime soon and the Cards are always good, even when it looks like they are going to take a step back. I have a feeling the NL Central is going to be a dogfight for years to come. It's going to be fun to watch!
