well of course they did.
I got skimmed at a Casey’s. Then they put a $100 charge on my card.

So I don’t by gas there unless it’s an emergency. And never pay at the pumps. Never.

Shit, I should have added another option choice in the poll. "Got Skimmed!".

Casey's pizza is the best. I've been eating it for 20 years and never had any issues. Their crust is what really makes the pizza. Godfather's crust sucks ass. I also don't think Casey's is any more greasy than most pizza places.

20 years? How fat are you?

You can get skimmed anywhere. Was at a gas station 2 hours from Chicago and the clerk said he was having issues with the card and then did it by hand. Hour later the card co asked me if I was trying to buy a 700 dollar purse at Brookfield mall in Chicago.

Another time a clerk actually got thru the first level of security at discover and changed my address to Florida with a card rep. She caught it and stopped further damage. But it was hell after that as ehen you apply for a lot of things online and otherwise I was constantly asked for an address I never had. Took 2 years and help from the state attny general.

Understand your pain but buying anything anywherevhas risk including cash. Also gave had id stolen thru countrywide, blue cross, new egg and others. You have to be deligent. New Egg actually gave me the number and address of the theif. Had fun with that one. I used to travel quite a bit. A guy from Syria stole my skype login off of a computer in Ukraine and gave it to a guy in Syria who proceeded to call about every known terror hotspot. I had skype set to auto recharge. I caught it pretty quickly and made several calls and figured out his phone number in Syria. I called him and had a great conversation and told him how he was in reality stealing food by taking my money from my newly adopted kids. He acted shamed. Then I told him I gave his number to my friend in the FBI...which was true and he instantly hung up.

One bit of advice...never ever giv you soc number out at doctors offices. Protect the soc like nothing else.

Doesn't the outside pumps initially hold $100 dollar credit when you first swipe your card, but when you're done pumping gas it reduces to the amount you purchased. I don't think anyone did anything intentional but sounds like the point of sale system just had a glitch.

First thought of Casey's to me.... farmers drinking all the coffee they can while bitching about who's worse off and losing their ass while their new pickups sit outside.

Second thought, running late for work standing behind some ass bag with nothing better to do holding up the check out for f**king lottery tickets.

Worse, when they are cashing out a string of $2 winners...scratch-offs are for losers. And junkies.

I think you’re right. It was a few years now so I don’t remember all the details. Right around the same time at a different Casey’s I got skimmed and called them. Cashier inside this particular store said they had two previous cluster skimming but Casey’s had not done anything about it.

Decided then not to pay-at-the-pump unless no alternative —-especially a station not open 24/7.

And some Casey’s are equivalent to Git-n-Go

Yes. It’s all about minimizing risk now. Never had the depth of problems like that but ....

One way I minimize risk is to not be rich.
:D ;)

But, yeah, especially Social #.

Actually being not rich makes it really hard when you are compromised. Only one was due to my negligence and that was skype. Everything else was on someone else, either the thief or the company. I'm sure you know this, but for a that might not, keep your bank account on your phone so you can check frequently (that's how I discovered skype) and get free credit karma and check every month.. Run your free credit report annually. Discover and Chase give free FICO scores as well as Credit Karma. If the score goes down...investigate. Always go over your card statements and back account. I work in the banking industry so it's on my mind. When I buy gas I always stop at a certain cent number to easily ID if there is a fraud charge.

Don't necessarily trust banks. I personally know 4 who have served/serving time, 3 or which were from Iowa. Everyone of them surprised me. One says that Terre Haute Fed is very hard to find home for a few years. It's not just gas station attendants.

At doctors visits I've had several tell me I can't be seen w/o the soc number, but when I get up to leave they change their mind.

A couple years ago noticed on my CC a charge of $600.00 to some company in NJ that I didn't recognize at all. My CC statement had the 1-800 phone number to the company and I called. It turns out what was billed to my CC were a few car starters or something. I never ordered them. The guy at the auto parts warehouse actually never sent the order out and said he was suspicious. I said but you already billed my CC. He stated he didn't send out the order because he thought it looked suspicious. He thought it was suspicious to order so many starters that were the same. He also said if it was a legit sale, that the buyer would eventually call up asking where the products are, then he would send.

I asked him if he had the shipping address and name of the person where the products were to be sent. The name was some middle eastern name that I can't recollect to save me. Anyway, what I was completely shocked by was the shipping address was literally about one mile away from me in North Liberty. His neighborhood was literally across the HWY 965 and a few away from me. I drive by the house a few times and it's a normal nice 15 yr old two story home in a nice neighborhood. Thinking WTF is going on?

I call the local police and open a police report thinking this jackal stole my CC and ordering shit to later sell on Craiglist or something. The local police go to interview the guy and he acts completely shocked and denies doing anything wrong. The cop stated there is nothing they can do and don't pursue anything. They say the guy stated he responded to an add and was to forward on packages to individuals and had no idea it was a scam. Now I'm thinking, what the hell are the odds the perps who stole my card has a guy to forward packages live one mile from my house? No way. How is this guy not involved? Cops wouldn't do shit.

You know when you are getting old...I remember when Casey’s used to deliver blocks of ice. This when they only had the one store on 14th and Broadway.
