I could understand if you said John Calipari has an incrdible eye for talent.

How hard is it to evaluate talent when you are going after the top 25 kids in the country?

Iowa has average talent, just like a whole lot of other NCAA Division I basketball programs. How is that having a "Great Eye For Talent"?

I was just telling him guys who generally get above average talent.

I get what he is saying but it's not like Lick has recruited a guy who was a two start recruit, developed him and sent him to the NBA. He said "Great Eye For Talent", which to me idicates that Lick has found some Diamond in the rough.

Iowa doesn't have garbage talent, just a lot of average talent. I don't get how that's showing a great eye for talent.

I'm not arguing your point. But in order to make your point I think their were others you could have mentioned. Not only does Calipari compete for some of the big time players based on where he coaches, but his past will tell you that he doesn't always do it necessarily the right way.

There is little sign yet that Lick has "an incredible eye for talent." Cougill and Bauwinkle certainly wouldn't be considered as diamonds in the rough. Davis was a complete bust. Archie is an unknown, yet. Tucker has been mediocre, up and down. Fuller has shown some promise, but it's far from certain. Cougill and Payne are both freshman and it is too early to tell. Payne looks okay, but hardly incredible. May was a good catch for Lick, I will give you that.
