Orlando Brown Jr.?

Could be just keeping us in the mix because of the respect his father had for Kurt. But if we are genuinely in the running still, without having him visit already, I think we have a legit shot (if Kurt and Co. can get him to Iowa City).

It's the father thing. I'm sure if his dad was around even he would be telling the kid to go to a team with a shot at the BCS title.

I don'tk now if I agree with that HFN, his dad said if a lot of interviews that without KF he wouldn't have had to career that he did. He loved KF and wanted his son to play for him but he didn't want to push him either way as it is his son's decision. Based on the interviews I read when he was alive, he would have pushed him to Iowa.

Not a chance we get this kid. Why come play on a .500 team at best. The word is out and has been out on KF.

If the kid wants to make the NFL the word out on KF is he is known for developing O-linemen. Plus Kirk is personal friends of this kid's family, and this kid and Kirk have a good relationship.

So if this kid only wants to play on a championship level team, then yes he isn't coming to Iowa. But we don't know that yet.

But Bama has much higher odds of doing so than Iowa.

Also Bama can put you in the NFL. Lots of NFL linemen make the NFL without KF's help. If you are that good (Kuoandjio) you don't need KF to make the NFL. I'm just saying, if I was this kid, with his size and ability, I wouldn't waste my time at Iowa (and I'm a hawkeye homer). It's just hard to see why you would do that with that level of talent.

IMO if Pierschbacher does not go to Iowa, I think it proves how far KF and the Iowa program have fallen. He's a big Iowa fan, and if we can't even keep him in Iowa, that's a major fail.

Agreed 100% HF! Pierschbacher will be a huge indicator of where this program stands on top in-state talent that grow up fans of Iowa. Iowa got Keenan Davis a few years back, he was an Iowa fan. Don't forget Austin Blythe he was a fan. Can't really think of who else.

Allen Lazard and Jake Campos grew up ISU fans, hell Lazard is a legacy at ISU because his dad played their and his brother already does.

Iowa and ISU lost out on Amara Darboh to Michigan but he wasn't exactly a big fan of either Iowa or ISU because he wasn't truly from here. Then you have Christian French, he had Iowa in his top four I think, but he choose Oregon because he wanted to go to a contender.

French wanted to play WR/TE that is why he went to Oregon- but he had hands of stone. I never really thought he was a good fit at Iowa anyway.

Yep, the 2014 recruiting class is very important. I have no idea about Scheel as a fan, but I think he could do a lot of good things at Iowa. Those are the 2 instate kids I want, him and Pierschbacher.

So you were wrong?

And also please provide a link where anybody said JVB was the worst QB out of 114 teams.
go look for yourself its in any of the JVB threads,
and of course you never make a mistake, and get a pedestal and declare how wrong you were about anything

don't forget Render another instate big OL man, not sure how he feels about either Iowa or ISU.
and I am not holding a kid that choosing a Instate school over another school as both atre BCS level schools

HF, what did Iowa want him to play?

Oh yeah, he is a big boy, he will be a good one as well.

Defense at DE. even ISU didn't make that big of a effort into recruiting him, and the funny thing is, French has now been switched to DE by the Oregon staff

Did he put on weight? He was what 215-220, or so in HS? Doesn't sound like a bad move sometimes kids don't always know what is best for them. Plus I think Oregon wants track speed with excellent hands at WR/TE, maybe he got his shot at WR/TE wasn't going to see the field and realized he needed to switch positions.

I believe that Oregon recruited him as a WR/TE, but knew he was a DE. He had no hands, I mean terrible at catching the football. Now, when Iowa does that with Garmon or Derby it's dumb, but it's a good move by Oregon?? Not saying you are contradictory or anything ,but I just find it funny that people think it only happens at Iowa and that KF is dumb for doing so.

Again not saying you do this Dave, but it makes me laugh when i see it.
