Whatever happened to Orlando Brown Jr., hope that's the name. There was talk of interest in Iowa but then I didn't hear anything after that. Anybody have any info.? Thanks.

yeah, he's not coming here. he has offers from everywhere. too bad. if we were decent i think we'd have a chance just because of the dad factor.

Interesting kid out of Georgia listed by some site as being anywhere from 6'7 345 lbs to 6'8 375 lbs.
there are reports about the kids father and Kirk had a solid working relationship and were good friends
nice trio of OL, if we can land them
6'7 345 Brown GA ESPN WL
6'4 275 Peirschbacher IA ESPN WL
6'4 304 Render IA
then add
Scheel 6'1 ATH IA ESPN WL
Lazard 6'5 WR IA
THE 2014 class is loaded

So how does this ad to the Brown recruitment?

He's another monster OL that will string us along for months and then break our hearts at the end. There have been so many of those over the years, I can't even keep track. His dad was an All-Pro under KF in Cleveland.

He's not stringing us along.

Next year theres is a lot of good talent in the midwest that Iowa has the potential to grab. Hopefully next year we will bounce back.

I completely agree. His father held Kirk in the highest regard and his son has long echoed his praise. I don't know if he would ultimately come to Iowa, but I do think Jr. understands his potential and knows that Kirk brought out the best in his father and could do the same to him. There was an article about a year ago where all of this was laid out with some strong quotes from Jr. I could see it being similar to Cyrus, where we are in the top 3 but get beat out by one of the national powerhouses for his services. And less like Kozan who couldn't make up his mind and now plays for one of the few teams that were worse than us this year.

Kozan 2.0?

Oh yes, I wonder how that Auburn move is going.
I don't know how any top OL would not want to go to Iowa.
To me, it would seem it could be worth millions when the draft comes around. That could mean that playing OL for Iowa for 4 or 5 years could average out to being worth half a mil a year (or more). Nice little bonus on top of a respectable degree.

I didn't think KF would take a lineman that big? How can he handle the DL that are actually smaller than him. That would put him at a disadvantage;)

the OL we have are good enough to have for the next couple years, by adding those 3 the OL just becomes that much better and bigger.
one that will compare to Wisconsin's OL

Even if true, what amount is worth it? Do you take 20,000 now and give up millions when the draft comes? Maybe that why he is majoring in business, maybe he is a little slow on the uptake.
