A little like Indiana 2021. Came in ranked with higher expectations and fizzled.

Their WRs had really good size and speed, seemed they had hands as well. Their QB really had some nice passes when we played them. They only had about 70 yards rushing but they were moving at times.

I would really really like for Iowa to win this game.
I will dislike Oregon forever. Because my very first game, my first ever in person college football game experience ever....
Was Iowa/Oregon. 1989
It was not pretty. That season was not terribly pretty.
But it was mostly uphill from there at least.

Defense was suspect. But still I figured they may out gun some teams.

I can't think ot a time I've ever been optimistic about Iowa. Certainly not for awhile now. Even prior to the skid?

Maybe not optimistic about any team or individual athlete I'm a fan of.

Hopeful, yes. Always.

But that's also just me. Pessimism works for me when I have no control over something. If they lose, I'm already prepared for an empty glass. If they win, Whoa. Pleasant surprise. My cuppeth runneth overeth. Victory is even sweeter.

Now, if I was on the team and had aome control, we are winning every game. At least in my mind

I thiught JVB had an overall good season in 2011. Not every game, but overall I would call it a good season. He still had McNutt to throw to in 2011.

It was 2012 when everything went to sh!t on the offense.
