Open practice

Willies caught a deep ball on the 5 from Rudock at the 50. Slightly underthrown again but on target. Weisman followed it up with a TD run.

Another slightly under thrown deep ball from Rudock, but this one was at least 60 yards. Willies mad a. Nice adjustment and came down with it inside the five. Lomax had pretty solid coverage on the play, but Willies did have a step on him. The wind has also shifted, so there is more of a cross wind now. Very nice play by Willies.

Willies with a nice snag on a 15 or so yard pass that was thrown a bit out in front of him by CJ

Willies starting to flash

Again, Willies with a 15 yard catch on an out route. Pass by Rudock on the money.

*maybe it was thrown by Shimonek. I might have missed the sub

Rudock just completed a deep hook route on the right to T. Smith. Smith made it a big play by breaking a tackle and making a nice run after the catch.

Rudock getting comfortable now. He just landed a beautiful deep out to Vandeberg and followed it up with a nice TD pass to Hamilton down the seam. Nice catch by Ray also.

I have to take off. Hopefully tm can continue from here. I gotta go meet the lady. She's got plans for us apparently.

Really happy with what I saw today. I thought Rudock looked great. Definitely the top guy. The receivers looked like a bright spot. Vandeberg, Mitchell, and Willies all look ready to contribute. Smith and KMM looked solid as expected.

Willies is definitely getting better as the day goes on. One thing I noticed earlier is that he had a tendency to round his routes off. That'll need to be cleaned up. But he's shown some good hands and ability to adjust to the ball in the air.

I'm about to leave, since the people I rode in with are ready to bolt. But I was pretty pleased with most of what I saw today.

Yes Lomax I'm sorry. #27. I think that's Lomax. Always got him confused with Lowery.

Too bad Lowery isn't still around, that'd be nice.

So Lomax and Lowdermilk at safety, King at the one CB spot and and who was at the other?

Rucker spent the most time with the first unit and looked good. Fleming also looked good with the second team, so I think we might just have a pretty strong secondary. Fleming was at his best in press coverage. Several different receivers had trouble getting off his jams.

I really didn't spend much time watching them at all. We pretty much know what we've got there, and they didn't make any big plays in the scrimmage portion.

Yes they didn't seem to feature the RB's much. When they did it was as expected... Weisman, then Bullock, then Canzeri, and then Daniels. They did seem to give Daniels multiple opportunities to get into the endzone with the 1's in a short yardage situation and he failed to do so. Great stand by the defense tho.

Great thread and thanks for the observations Tork and DP. Sounds like some good positives coming from the CB and WR positions.
