Open practice

Couple take always. Scherff blew up two plays in a row in a o line vs d line/lb drill. Completely ran over Alston. Alston humbly walked away from the exchange. Scherff will dominate many games this year. Willies, I thought looked good. Long legs, very tall, runs like a deer. WR #84 caught two long balls as well, looked good. Hillyer looked good on sidelines, def moped material. Some may disagree but I thought we looked crappy, vin padding drills. Many many bad reads and throws. Yes it is very early and in sure we will be fine but mha no impressy. I think we will have a lot of depth this year so hopeful for good special teams. Not much at all out of rbs. Shimonek's footwork looks awful, awkaard, clutsy. I thought corn breath really booted some nice ones, maybe the competition will be good for him. Go hawks.
 




Thanks for sharing your 2 cents. I could not make it over to Valley Stadium. While I understand this is an open practice, it's still nice to get the vibe on what some of the newer guys look like. I am most interested in the new receivers.
 






I'll add the Morehouse article covering the practice to the thread. As said before, it looks like the passing game was getting a good workout. The young wide receivers had a good day flashing some talent, the defensive backs didn't have a good day, with some blown coverages.

"Carl Davis said the defense has been strong against the run all spring." This is expected although it leaves me a little worried about run blocking on the right side
