Nebraska fans toil under the delusion that they can regain their place at the top of college football, simply because they are Nebraska. How easily they forget that Prop 48 and non existing entrance standards is what built their program. Those days are not coming back. Neither is another NC.

My brother in law is a huge Nebby fan. Always making comments about how Iowa sucks and Nebby is just screwed by the refs. ALWAYS. Would love to see Iowa go in there and just END their season.
Oh, and Iowa has yet to show Nebby what a decent Iowa team can do (thus far in the recent history of the series we've laid an egg).

Nebraska is one of "those teams" that every time they get even moderate success get ranked. After dominating the Big twelve north for years against almost no competition they think they can come to the B1G and dominate. I love that the big game has sent them home losers every year. But what I really hate is that they have beat Iowa twice. I want them to know that Iowa is not Iowa State.
Nebraska fans can't pen and ink a win against Iowa in August. They better use a pencil for the entire conference schedule. There are no automatic trips to Indy. This is the Big Ten. Every Big Ten conference game is a challenge that must be answered every down.

Last year at T-giving, we were driving back from Denver, CO, and we stopped in North Platte, NE to have lunch with bro & sis-in law, just in time to watch the game....had a nice lunch, saw Iowa struggling and ultimately lost the game.....as we are driving away (two blocks away mind you), my nephew's son (oh, who's probably 6 or 7), called me and said that Iowa lost, and they were bad.....Man, I wanna kick the snot out of that kid.....Wife's side of the family all live in Nebraska, western Nebraska....hell they should be Wyoming or Colorado fans they are so far west.....That was a long drive home after that......8 freaking hours and of course, Nebraska radio stations all had sports talk radio on....God Nebraska fans are the worst......Gotta beat those punks on Friday.....
I have so many reasons why. But I guess just for the simple fact of growing up in Sioux City having to listen to the obnoxious big red delusion every year. How they were Natl Champs in 97 and they sell out every game, and the BIG better get ready cause when get here theyre gonna dominate and blah blah F&$%# blah. Now that Im in South Carolina I don't have to listen to it and I feel for the people in western Iowa. I just hope we beat their ***.

Nebraska fans have an over-inflated sense of where there program is in today's college football landscape. It's enjoyable when they get reminded (losing to Minnesota).
Also, you can't talk to one of their fans without hearing them mention Tom Osborn at least 6 times in 2 minutes.

LOL. Probably true and to be honest, I still have a Starter jacket somewhere in my closet that I bought back in 94 for about $150. Its in perfect condition, as I have only wore the silly thing about 10 times.
I'd be shocked if you didn't see a number of "Back to Back '94-'95 National Championship" shirts.
My mom's side of the family lived on border right across the river from Blair, NE. When we were go there for Christmas, we always had to listen to their Sports people go on and on about the Huskers. My distain for Nebby started then. Now, with all of my cousins that root for the Huskers, this game is about braggin' rites when we get together at Christmas. Go Hawks!!

nice to see a husker fan on the forum. This forum, while good, is disconnected from other major forums in that regard. Rarely see posters from other schools on this forum like you do Scout for example.
My bro-in-law is a Husker grad, but he is not an obnoxious Husker fan....nice guy who is realistic about Husker football. My sis is a Hawkeye and she makes sure he keeps it in check. He does have to leave the house at holidays once in a while when the Hawk talk becomes too overwhelming...we are all Hawk outside of him . I do not hate Nebby, but I want to earn their respect by winning the next few games vs Big Red. I like the rivalry and want to play on Black Friday forever!

This is it exactly. I grew up in Mo. Valley and Atlantic before going to the U of I. Western Iowa Hawkeye fans understand way more than the central or eastern Iowa fans would. We live just outside of Des Moines now, and until Nebraska joined the B1G, you hardly heard anything about them here.
Truck stop on the NE side of Mo Valley? Can't think of one, but there is still on just off of I-29.
no this one was on whatever that hwy heading ne out of town. 77 maybe? That was a very long time ago. 25 plus years ago. They had good food.
