Only thing missing from ISU's black uniforms today

Here is what I will give the Clowns this year. They did not completely suck, they actually put together a good season...especially for them. Completely out of their character. But where the * is going to come from for this season:

-Covid Year not completely allowing for home crowds, not complete player rosters, and not complete preparation of a normal season.
-Being handled by Louisiana at home
-A New Years 6 Bowl win against a Charmin Soft version of Oregon who not be there if it were not for covid and scheduling.
-If this was ISU's best season in school history, it produced a 9-3 season. That is a good (maybe borderline very good depending on the wins and losses), but not great year and a feat accomplished by many other teams.
-Their best year and it still did not produce a conference championship.

I will also say this. Iowa St has to start somewhere and if they can build on this then we can truly say if they arrived as a program or not. But if I was betting on it, I would say this year is the exception.....far from the norm.

The black uniforms are a big thumbs down for me, I got a good laffy from the OP.

I'm on record as saying I actually really like(d) the USC rip off look. Not sure if that one is still in the rotation, but I'd want that as my primary look if I were a Clone fan.

I think I'm getting old and mellow, but I'm happy for the Clones and I hope long suffering Cyclone Nation is enjoying every minute. Not long ago, for reasons I don't understand, seeing ISU have this kind of success would have made me a basket case. It's a big relief not to be like that anymore.

I can't claim to actively root for ISU, I still view them as a rival...I have just grown out of needing ISU to lose for it to have been a good weekend/season of football. And, just like I said not too long ago about Hoiberg, I hope Campbell takes the first job offer that comes his way. ISU is not going to be an easy out as long as Campbell is there.

As you would/should expect, HN is one of the last places on earth where the Clones would get their propers, but they have a very good team. Legit top ten and very possibly the best team in school history. I would have loved to play them this year because I think it would have been an all time classic battle and, frankly, I think the Hawks would have had a good chance at the W (which would have been delicious on almost every level imaginable). Clones got screwed on their bowl matchup - that Oregon team was frankly beneath them and deprived us all of seeing ISU in one last premier matchup. Iowa got the same shake, I think we were going to blow the doors off Mizzou. Oh well, that's live in a world with covid, I guess.

Seriously? Do you really feel Oregon was even a bowl worthy team, much less a New Years Six Bowl Team? A 7-5 Big East Team was at least a legitimate Champion of a league. Oregon only played 1/2 of a season and only played because THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE TO PLAY IN THEIR TITLE GAME. They were a third place team in their own division. *****s all over this shit stain of a season. Hell, the fact that Iowa will probably finish ranked about 13th is silly and again illustrates what a joke this entire season has been. Iowa has had much better teams that have not finished ranked so highly.

We'll agree to disagree. I loved this season and had a great time. I'm sorry if you didn't.

Anyone know where I can get hardcover commemorative book of this season, the greatest season in Hawkeye history? That's what you do with a winning percentage of .750

Iowa didn't do anything for winning the Orange bowl in 2009?

I have no idea if they did. What I'm saying is that a season that Iowa barely considers average is a year where they have the same winning percentage as ISU in their greatest season ever.

Kirk Ferentz has won exactly one NY6 bowl game in his 22 seasons at Iowa. You think Ferentz would think winning another one would be average?

So this is all about when the bowl game was played? Beating a team that finished 3rd in their division of a bad conference is average for Ferentz. So much Clown delusion. Polishing a turd as usual.

Also, New Year's Six is a new term from the last 5 years or so. KF has had multiple teams that would've been selected. Before that time, there were conference tie-ins.

It appears that ISU has now gone from Cardinal / Yellow to Black as their primary uniform. Its a good look.

ISU fan arguing that ISU beating a team with 4 wins is some massive accomplishment is...something.

ISU has a good team. They will have a good team next year as well. I'm not going to pretend like they weren't good this year or won't be good next year. It goes without saying though that they wouldn't have sniffed a NY6 bowl at 9-3 in a normal season.

It will be interesting to see how they perform after next season when they lose their best QB and RB of all-time, their entire offensive line and their starting TE.

Fine, we can call them BCS bowls which have existed his entire career.
