One thing that really bothers me

Well, the most outrageous non-call happened in the Northwestern/Nebraska game. Fast forward to the 3:30 mark of the video. Game tied late in the 4th quarter and Northwestern moving. How is this not pass interference?

Maybe time to add a couple more officials? Why not? The college game is swimming in cash.. A couple more refs on the field may result in fewer missed calls.

Wasn't there a questionable non call in their game against Illinois a couple weeks ago as well? Illinois was down four and driving near midfield and ended up turning it over on downs when a receiver was held and a flag certainly could have been warranted.

If this happens a third time this season you know something is up. In any case I'm telling my defensive backs to rough up and hold receivers as much as possible because it seems like players are getting away with it.

Yeah, there was. Illinois should have gotten that call. I basically quit watching Big Ten hoops at least 5 years ago. I think I've maybe watched maybe a half dozen Iowa games in that span. The officiating is just so bad I refuse to watch it. I used to watch random games not involving Iowa, but now with good HD you can see how terrible the calls are and it is not that enjoyable.

Geez, I didn't see the game until yesterday. Stanley wasn't nearly as bad as everyone was saying. He's got get a clock in his head and in the face of the blitz, realize he has to get out of the pocket of get rid of it. In 3 or 4 of the sacks he has to get rid of the ball.

I was disappointed that there were no check down options on many of our pass plays. One options that would have worked well is to have our back slip the block and have Stanley immediately dump it off to him. Michigan was dropping everyone other than the 5 or 6 rushing...this would have been a 7-10 yard play every time and it stops all the blitzing. We didn't run enough screens either. Pretty disappointed Brian F...wasn't better.

That being said...our communication and execution up front was terrible in the second half. You have to be able to protect and communicate better. The good news it can be fixed...the bad news is that it has to be fixed...we have an experienced line other than Linderbaum. To their defense...we have been juggling guys in and out the last few weeks...it needs to get more consistent now.

Goodson needs 15 to 20 touches a game...period.

That non-call of PI was worse than what happened to the Saints in the NFC championship game. Unbelievable.

Basketball officiating in the B1G has long been atrocious. They can't decide if they want to clean up certain things or allow them. Mostly, they are simply intimidated (read: Izzo'ed) by certain coaches.

ACC games in the Hank Nichols era in the 1970's and 80's were among the best officiated in recent memory and this was with some of the all time heavyweight coaches and athletes in the history of the sport. But those officials drew a consistent line in the sand, were not swayed, and the players and coaches did their jobs accordingly.

Izzo on the other hand? He game plans during the week knowing he is going to get calls, even teaches certain techniques in preseason practice!

Bo Ryan did the same. If football gets that bad, I'm done. I'll still watch the Hawks, but planning my Saturday around the games will be a thing of the past.

Those damn Wisconsin guards, Koenig, Gasser, Showalter, Jackson, Taylor. Yes they were strong as hell but the hand to hand guerilla warfare that they got away with? Give me a break. They weren't achieving all those defensive statistics based on their own merit alone.

Aaron Craft was a prototype of the same type of player. He would literally chop down on your forearm and get away with it because he would keep his hands inside. He chopped Melsahn Basabe three times in one half, broke Talor Battle's wrist in another game.

There's also a famous montage that shows he didn't always keep his hands inside, however. He also did a lot of reaching and got away with most of it.

Excuses, excuses, excuses. Michigan hit us in the mouth and we did not respond. Total failure by the Iowa football team.

It is put up or shut up time for Iowa.

What bothers me is we are inept on offense AGAIN, and our genius coaching staff cannot make a single adjustment. We have a senior qb that is a complete statue and doesn't have the slightest clue how to handle a blitz. Jesus, weren't people talking about how mobil he was? He can't even try and side step a rusher. Just stands there and kind of does a half spin and takes the sack. We look like tough guys against bottom feeder MAC teams though, and Nate can pad his stats. Yeah, the refs sucked, but no game is decided by the officials. We got away with some holding that wasn't called, so it could have been worse, as did Michigan. Tired of hearing how Doyle is a genius as well. Our line is weak and slow. They got pummeled yesterday.
I’m as pissed as anyone, but to be fair, many of those blitzes were so fucking deadly that nobody is surviving. Alaric should’ve been benched and they should’ve gone back to the old alignment with Wirfs at LT. What a fucking embarrassment.

I would have gone wing T with Goodson in the middle, Alaric on the left and Ross on the right for at least 5 straight plays. I honestly don't think Michigan could have stopped it.
