One of My Favorite Hawkeye Football Moments

Another good one at the end of the game.

Those wee certainly great games. But my favorite memery has to be the 1952 win over Ohio State, 8-0. It was Evy's first big win at Iowa. A friend and I, and thousands of others watched as the Corn Monument on the West side of the Pentacrest was burned. Following that, we tried to have 1 beer in every bar in Iowa City. Not surprising, I can't remember if we made it or not.

Love the fact you were there !!! and old enough to drink. that is awesome ! I bet you have some kick-butt stories.

Great little town.... Hawarden, Iowa. I dated a cool girl from there so spent a little time up there about 10 years ago.

I was first row by the railing in the upper deck, about the 10 yard line on our receiving end. They crowd went crazy! I jumped up and down like Richard Simmons at a co-ed strip joint. I also screamed like a little girl, I didn't even know I was capable of making that sound. Even though we lost badly and I briefly considered jumping off the top of the stadium after the game I will never forget that moment. It was the single most exciting Hawkeye play I have seen in person. I can't imagine being there for Tate to Holloway.

I was a student when I watched the Michigan-Iowa game for #1 in 1985 from the top row on the five yard line in the student section on the northwest side. That would have to be my favorite football moment that I was in attendance. But that Pitt game last year, sitting next to papathawki, wasn't too bad, for the last 12 minutes anyway:)

My Iowa basketball moment might be the Iowa-UTEP game in the NCAA Tournament in 1987 in Tucson, with Lute's Arizona Wildcats hosting the weekend events. Kevin Gamble hit a pretty big shot in that game as well with less than two minutes left, IIRC.

I only went to one wrestling match, but it was a good one. I believe Mark Sindlinger pinned Nate Cole for the win against ISU in December or January of 1986/87. Correct me if I am wrong on those names.

Those were some pretty memorable moments, for sure.
