Omicron Covid

Damn, South Korea had 5 straight days shattering 150k cases. Over 99% mask compliance. Someone needs to tell them to mask harder and teach them the proven benefits of the double mask.

With no disrespect to who you've know to pass away directly from COVID, I'm going to really question this. Unless, your high bar for "young people" is including 85 yr old and actually unhealthy people, I really question it.

I mentioned in a thread above that when I reviewed all my acquaintances (fam and friends) I could not recall many that have perished, actually one co-worker, which is bad yes. I asked others to examine their acquaintances and nobody responded.

Young and healthy people have a minuscule percentage of death. Sorry, again with respect, I got to call you out on this one.
You are a very sad pathletic individual. The only correction I will make is I should have said few in stead of many people. But the few I have known have been healthy one was 40 the other close to 70 but was a super healthy 70. There are a few others that I have known of also and I'm from a small town cant even imagine the larger cities.

Yeah there getting hit hard by the Omicron right now just like what the US did a month ago.

The reason he called you out is because you said "many". If you would have said a couple, or even a few, he probably wouldn't have said anything. You also include a 70 year old as "young". That changes things too.

The reason he called you out is because it's highly unlikely that anyone in the world is unlucky enough to know "many young healthy people who have died from covid".

I know at least 4 people younger than 35 that have not had taste or smell for a year or more. Two of them still have lungs that havent recovered their capacities. Everybody talks about death as if that's the only negative outcome of severe covid. There are many.

Everything you said is easily believable. Saying you know many young healthy people who have died isn't.

No matter how you decide to live your life with covid in the world, there is a decent chance of negative outcomes. I'm sure there are lots of old people who chose to stay away from family and ended up dying from other causes wasting the last year or two of their life. I'm sure there are old people who chose to stay away from family and ended up getting it anyway after a year or two of seclusion.

There are young people who didn't fear it and died. People who got pressured into the vaccine and had bad experiences. People who double mask and get it. People who vax and die from covid anyway. And people like me who assumed it was inevitable I would get it so lived my life normal, got it, it sucked, I'm fine, and now I feel great about my decision to not waste away my life.

I apologize sir. Sorry for your losses.

Exactly, that was my point. I tried to be as sincere as I could but it is a difficult topic to discuss or question someone on. I mean the numbers just don't add up, especially if each one of us knew a few as that would be alarming. He may be the outlier and making up for me and everyone else I asked.

I mean anybody could say they know a handful of people who succumbed to it. I don't know. But, it's too serious to debate one, because if you do, they have a card to come back to say, you are the most pathetic individual. I'll leave it at that. Again, there are people who may embellish a statement to make a point and have to live knowing they skewed what really happen, then there are those who are outliers of the numbers. He very well may be that outlier. I don't know and can't prove that.

This has been a concern of mine, lasting complications.

People on this forum seem to believe that the younger generations are soft. I dont think there's anything softer than a dude whining about wearing a mask for 35 seconds to be able to eat his jalepeno poppers at applebees.

Another fun part: I had to take a friend to the ER a few weeks ago with appendicitis. He had to wait 24 hours for surgery (UIHC) because there were no spare beds. Glad I'm not a medical worker. It's been hell for them the last two years.

False. An action like ordering someone to wear a mask to walk 25 feet from the door to their table, where they will promptly remove their mask and leave it removed for 45+ minutes, is nothing more than a societal shit test. A male with a functioning brain will understand this and see the mask theater as, pardon my French, completely fucking retarded. Microplastics, soy and estrogen driven pedagogy in schools have driven testosterone and the will to fight out of many young men. They'll plead "GOVERN ME HARDER DADDY" and won't offer any pushback. Soft men will make for hard times.

My concern regarding COVID is fairly low. My concern about how quickly western leftists became authoritarians over a virus with an IFR of well below 1% scares the ever living shit out of me, though. It should scare you too if you are actually a libertarian.

Bad news hombre, it will only get worse. The boomers as a group are just now hitting the phase where they need a shitload of healthcare and they are a massive group. Buckle up.

Are you saying he didn't have a bed for a surgery because they filled surgical beds with covid patients?

Oh my goodness. So, he was in extreme pain waiting for a surgical theater to open up. Hopefully they controlled it relatively well but they wouldn't want a burst appendix to cause infection.

Wow, post of the year!

Numerous doctors are worried a lot about long range effects. It has become a major field of study.
