I have to admit I'm getting a little frustrated that the Hawks haven't offered this kid yet. He's blowing up at camps with a lot of talent that he's competing with. I keep reading great things about him all over social media. He's right in Iowa's own backyard and he plays a position of need for the Hawks.

I realize this isn't a very big class and that there are only so many offers to go around. I hope the reason the Hawks haven't offered is because they are waiting on guys that they view as better, but I just have a feeling this young Iowa kid is gonna be a good one and I'd hate to see him get away. The longer they wait the more he may be prone to saying no if or when they do offer.

He's on the rise, no doubt. Liked what I saw of him at The Opening in Chicago and always have liked him when I've watched him at West.

I'd be more concerned if we hadn't offered yet and a bunch of other Power 5s had. Fortunately, that's not the case despite his strong run at these combines.

He'll camp here next week. Let's see how it goes. I think it will go well.

Thanks Rob.

I've got a quick question for you. When these recruits camp here are the current players involved in camp at all? Like could CJ go out there and throw some balls to Martin? I'm just wondering how involved the current players are with these camps or if it's simply more of a coaching evaluation. I would think it would be easier to evaluate these guys from a coaching perspective if they are showing what they've got against current players. For instance, Martin isn't catching balls in high school from a guy with CJ's arm talent.

I do not think current players can help with these summer prospects camps. There's pretty limited contract between coaches and current players in the summer. They work out most on their own and with Doyle.

But I agree, it would be nice to have current players being able to work with the high school guys. Of course, if it were allowed, Harbaugh would find a way to exploit it. :)

Yeah no chance current players could participate in them. Rules all over the place against that. I think Iowa is waiting on a couple receivers one in Cali and one in TX for sure anyway. I have a feeling Martin will end up being offered by Iowa. I just hope he keeps flying under the radar and other schools don't start offering him too making him have to decide to either wait on Iowa and possibly pass up one... I'm not worried too much though because it seems like in situations like this things seem to work themselves out in Iowa's favor. If he wants to be a Hawk he'll end up one.

I've seen him at a camp. He is outstanding. Better in the agility drills that just about anybody I've seen at a camp. Performs really well in the position drills. Surprised other P5 offers haven't come yet, but they will.
