Oliver Martin update

Some rumblings out there as well that Michigan is no longer after Martin, or were slow playing him anyway. Think it is down to Iowa and Notre Dame at this point.

So, Iowa may get their "Lazard-like' receiver after all. Their second coming of KMM? Check out his 40 time of 4.57.

BTW, an elite 40 time for a WR is in the 4.38 range. Maybe he'll end up a tight end?

Notre Dame is about to lose QB/ Offensive Coordinator Mike Sanborn to the head coaching job at Western Kentucky. This, and DeShone Kizer turning pro may either buy or sell the future of Brian Kelly at Notre Dame by next season. Notre Dame has more high profile kids at WR than Martin who would be lucky to play by his junior year. A new HC at ND means he will want his own recruits and may force out non-all stars.

I am betting Iowa is where OM goes.

funny, Lazards 40 time is 4.65
Both Lazard and Martin can catch the pass. I'm sure that's what endears recruiters to Martin. He's certainly not a speed burner. Just like Lazard is not. Lazard is taller, though.

I'm just telling the Hawkeye faithful, now. I'm also saying I'd certainly take him as a Hawkeye. Go Oliver. Go to Iowa!

My God, not only are you freaking a miserable ****ing douche bag, you don't know shat. Couple of 5* WR here, I mean check out these 40 times.

Jerry Juedy 4.55
Tee Higgins 4.56

elite NFL receivers:
Odell Beckham 4.43
Julio Jones 4.4
Dez Bryant 4.52
Dez Bryant has a 4.52 40? That surprises me. Just by looking at his, IMO, inability to pull away from defenders, I'd think he was slower. He's certainly tall enough to high point the ball over most defenders, though.

How high can Oliver Martin jump?

You know, I can disagree with you without the name calling. Why can't you?

You know, you can say that you think Wadley is better than Daniels without putting down and bashing Daniels and the coaches. Why don't you?

It is what it is Homer. You post like you post, and that is a constant miserable ****ing douche bag tone to everything. I post how I post, jumping peoples asses over things and being a douche bag. It is what it is.

according to your first post, only speed makes an elite receiver

Announcement dates can be fluid. The plan is at the Army game but that can change. It's a dead period now, though, so there's no in-person contact until after Jan. 11. That means he can't take any officials until after that date.

Meh. Catching ability, jumping ability, getting open, height and getting the 50-50 balls are also important, IMO. Just ask the Iowa and ISU staffs, for example, who jockeyed for Lazard as their recruit.

Do you use strawman arguments much or just here?

I feel better about our chances now than I have for weeks on getting him. ND seems like a mess right now. Coaching questions all up in the air there. Safe to say Kelly won't be there for any of this years classes graduations. They sure aren't the prominent power they ever used to be. Michigan is what they are. But if they have a couple other stud WRs they are chasing and Martin is their 'fallback..' Plus Harbaugh is a wild card. Is he really in for the long haul there? I just like where Iowa is positioned. He went to most of the home games it seemed like. Doesn't he train some with Marvin McNutt and KMM? It'd be quite the pulling of the football away from Charlie Brown if he were to go somewhere else now...

Homer has no clue what he is talking about 99% of the time. McNutt ran a 4.54 at the combine and that was after 4 years with Doyle. DJK ran a 4.5 at his private workout after 5 years in the program.

Those guys were playmakers and game changers. Martin is plenty fast enough, plus keep in mind those were numbers he posted before his Sr year even in HS.
