Oliver Martin Back on Iowa Campus Monday, Will Join Hawkeyes This Week

I've read that the school would have to apply for it on the players behalf. KF in the past has disparaged other schools for having done it in what would be similar situations. So itd be somewhat hypocritical of KF to now go for this to me. Unless he has a change of heart and just figures since you cant beat em try playing the same game as them. It seems like quite the reach and I'd go out on a limb and say even if Iowa applied for it with iowas luck with the NCAA lately he wouldnt get it...
I don't know if KF has disparaged a school for applying for a waiver so much as he has disparaged the NCAA for their inconsistent application of their own rules. Calling him a hypocrite for trying might be a bit strong.

All day, any day. Steve Largent was never known as a classic burner, but he was frequently wide open. Because he was a precise route runner. His career YPC numbers are similiar to Lynn Swann, who had a reputation as a deep threat.

On the B1G scale, Dave Moritz had a way of getting open deep even though he wasn't known as a burner. His career YPC at Iowa is more than a yard higher than Tim Dwight. In fact, he's second all time in YPC among the top 20 at Iowa in career receptions (Maurice Brown #1).

Jerry Rice was a 4.6 guy coming out of college (probably never "trained" to run a 40 in his life). I saw this Montana highlight reel in my twitter feed today, and I marveled at Rice's skills. What a stud.

So I would say the expectations for Martin should be an approximate cross of Largent and Rice.

And got the crap knocked out of him. In fact his first couple years in the league were played under the old rules where any and all contact was allowed on receivers until the ball was in the air, including "axeing" their legs right out from under them, a favorite technique of Pat Fischer and Dick Anderson.

One of the better stories of revenge here ...

You could make an argument that the state of Mississippi produced the best receiver of all time and the best running back of all time (Rice and Walter Payton).

If Brett Favre, another Mississippi native, wins more than one super bowl you could have put him in the discussion of best quarterback off all time.

I have not heard that. Not saying you’re wrong, I just had not heard or read if KF saying that.
I cannot find where he says if no they step away(if someone could thanks) here is a quote about recruiting:

“To me, it's easy," Ferentz said. "If you talk to a player and he's not sure, same thing, he may have said he's committed to the school, but if he's not sure, he's not sure. “We're going to keep recruiting him, just like people recruit our players as well.
