Oklahoma St > Iowa b/c of Offense

What is so sad to me is knowing Iowa has weapons on offense but is so incompetent on coaching them up and scheming to use them. Okie St has defensive struggles. Their solution was to max out on O.

Sad how pathetic the Iowa offense is. Even when they come back its not b/c of coaching or taking advantage of its talents. It's more in spite of itself.

Eddy was talking about things MSU was doing on the DL, slanting and stunting to blow up the Iowa run game, and the need to run counter plays to expose it. Of course, we did not run counters.

the pass game has almost no intemediate game- it's dink and dunk or 1:1 to McNutt downfield.

And then as time is slipping away there is no shotgun but Vandy under center. Uh, why?!

I know nothing will change. But it is sad to have to watch a team with talents at RB, WR, QB and supposedly OL crap the bed each week. If there really is talent on offense (which I and most of us believe), than failure to prepare/gameplan OR "failure to execute" rests on the coaches.

This rant is concluded. I will now quietly cry as I watch "unsexy" programs like Oregon, Okie St, Kansas St and others successfully execute and score points on offense.

This year was a massive waste of some talent on offense, but you will always get that with the KF/KOK combo.

I agree. OUr offense has been the problem for many years. There is 0 creativity, and if they do something creative: aka NO huddle offense; they quit doing it almost immediately. They need serious changes on offense. The days of the run up the middle, run the 3 yard loss stretch play to a slow running back are over! They actually have the weapons this year, but they won't use them. They could easily go 4 wide and make OTHER teams have to decide what to do instead of us cowering every time a team blitzes. I completely agree with you , and it is very frustrating! O'Keefe could be the most creative offensive playcaller, but you would never know it.

Funny how OK St. was irrelevant a few years ago, gets a young new coach who has a vision and now have had back to back years of huge success. Hmmmm....guess that kind of goes against this whole Tom Davis and next level argument. Sometimes new blood IS needed to reach the next level.

Iowa did go no-huddle several times today.

Did you happen to see how that worked out?

mcnutt is the best receiver iowa has ever had and his best game ever is 9 catches? Throw him the ball all day long. he should have multiple 15 reception games

That's a good point . You're right with those weapons we should have averaged 40. Thanks for pointing out that it's not just this year our offense has over achieved

I forgot...how many conference championships in that time frame?

Really? You're mad because they're not putting up 40 points per game?

How does one reason with a person like this?

Are you for serious? Multiple 15 reception games? I seriously wonder about some of you people.

All you can do is laugh at them...

31 ppg puts us at 41st in the country. I can see why one would not be too thrilled with this.

I bet if you looked up the best receiver on any team in college football they would have multiple 15 reception games. He is the BEST receiver Iowa has Ever has. How is that a stupid statement?

maybe not 40 but when you have the 2 best receivers in Iowa history and an nfl quarterback i would say 23 and 29 is underachieving

You might want to look up the names Phil Knight and T Boone Pickens. We can be like them to if you would just donate a 100 mill to Iowa.
