The Dayton Flyers just took the NIT Championship. I guess Barta will be on the first flight out to NYC??? Good luck and Godspeed, Gary. Go get 'em!!

You really think that he would become an assistant coach at Iowa? Wow, then by all means Gary and Fran should both fly to NYC!
 
Thanks for getting the humor, Nebraska. As a Dayton alum, I cannot fathom why Gregory would want to wait to interview for the Iowa job while his team was competing. In the NIT!!! In all seriousness. We got the right guy. Of this, I am sure.
 
Good for Gregory. Playing in a tournament less popular than womens NCAA. With all his intergrity, I suspect he will be at DePaul with his pay raise in a week.

Black. I'm glad we didn't get him. Where was this team this year?? A most dubious honor winning the NIT. But when the Tournament expands to 96 teams next year, it means a whole lot more job security.
 
Penn, I think he is good guy from what I have seen, but a lot of people felt Dayton under achieved. Players coach. We will see how much of one he really is and see if he takes the bigger paycheck to go to a program with some real question marks.

I really don't think he was on the Hawkeye radar, Black. He has a first round win over WVU, last year. That's all.
 
I was rooting for UNC to become the first team to win the NCAA and NIT in back to back years and to see how they would spin winning them in that order to somehow use it as bragging rights...

busabus. We've got the right man. The cat who writes the music column for the Iowa City Press Citizen. Rob Musser? A great dude. Saw him at Gabe's for all the classic shows. Southern Culture On The Skids. Marshall Crenshaw. Anyway. He said it best. "I think the last guy we hired from PA did all right. I got a feeling."

I don't know, bus. He did a little with a lot, this year. Being a grad, I had the cchance to follow them. Underachieved, with all that talent. It was there. Saw them beat Xavier by 20. What happened?

I dont know...didnt see them play much except for the NIT and a fe other times. All i know is that if Iowa had hired him this board would be absolutely giddy. Even more so than it is now. Let me be clear that I think McCaffrey was the right choice

Being a Philly boy, I have no problems with Fran. The only problem is, I have to spend some $$. Season tickets, you see. I must support the man.
