The SEC isn't good this year. The top is great, the middle is bad and the bottom is down right brutal.

Georgia, South Carolina, LSU, Alabama and Arkansas are the only good teams in the SEC.
Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Baylor and Kansas State are good in the Big12.
Wisconsin, Mich State, Michigan, Nebraska and Penn State are good in the Big10.

If you threw the 13 teams (exclude LSU) into a bag and drew two out, you wouldn't be able to determine the outcome on a truly neutral field.

The top of the SEC is not just great. It's elite. The next level of the SEC (Georgia, Arkansas, South Carolina) would make a serious run at winning the B1G. I'd even throw Auburn/Florida in the mix if they played in the B1G.

We know. We know. The SEC's worst women's field hockey team would win the Big Ten football championship. Let it go.

Bama has one loss to LSU by 3. Ok St lost to Clowns by 6.

May not seem fair but Bama is the 2nd best team.......

Bama did not have that tough of schedule.... SEC love needs to end. This year the Big 12 was better, fact....

Since when did this "best loss" criteria come into play? In 2006 Michigan had a much better loss than Florida did, yet Florida's argument was they had an overall stronger resume. Now that the situation is flipped and OK St has a stronger resume all the SEC honks have is this "best loss" category. Just seems odd.

there aren't "quality" losses. an L is an L no matter who its a against.

both teams have 1 loss, OSU has the better resume. that means OSU should be in.

Besides the obvious bias on this site full of SEC hate (jealousy) that you can read on a daily basis from B1G fans...Ok State lost to a team we all laugh at, do not consider a solid program, have little or no respect for, and Bama lost by 3 in OT to a team no one would ever show disrespect to.
Of course everyone will say OK State because everyone on this site hates the SEC.
OK State plays in a league that we all know plays zero defense.
If OK State played an SEC team we would see what happens to all of these explosive offenses each time they go up against an SEC defense. Just ask Oregon.

ALABAMA

Like I said earlier, when did we begin using "best loss" as a criteria for evaluating teams? Michigan should have been in the title game over Florida in '06 if we were using this metric.

Oklahoma St's terrible defense held Texas A&M to fewer points than Arkansas did. And last time I checked Arkansas did pretty well in the SEC.

OK State. Bama had their chance at home and couldn't get it done. Plus it will be interesting to see a strength on strength and weakness on weakness game.

Big 12 needs to do some radically quick lobbying.

LSU averages 38 points per game, 12th in the nation. Their offense is not a weakness.

Alabama made it look bad because their defense is that great.
