Ohio State - How Many People Have To Complain

This is an amazingly sick indictment of people around that athletic department. The doctor was sick but people had to know. I didnt read this report as I probably couldnt stand to read it but didnt people know?

I'm starting to think my moderately sized church has materially better safeguards in place than every Big Ten school with "State" in its name.

Ohio State should get the death penalty. Eternal shame on that school.

Of course it won't happen. The money train would stop for the Big Ten and Jim ("the Emperor") Delaney

Actually, the Southern Baptists are currently getting turned upside down over this and the Mennonites are under a lot of pressure to stop protecting abusers. Point.... will eventually happen.

I did see somewhere that some victims were as young as 14. 11 Warriors actually has a good deal of posters being reasonable, though not a lot of threads. And there are the usual idiots. Even OSU has them.

Our church implemented a 2 adult rule over 10 years ago and when the Sandusky stuff came out and it appeared that the wife was at best willfully ignorant, they modified it to a 2 unrelated/unmarried adult rule. It applies to everyone, including the pastor, who is a fairly comely woman. They have rotating hall monitors and windows on the door of every room. It is designed to protect kids first and foremost, but also the church and employees and volunteers against false claims. Honestly, if I was a college professor, I would never want to be around any student alone given the way the world is today.

The only thing the death penalty hurts is players, most of whom never had anything to do with the issue. Most players aren't out of state superstars who can easily pick up and move across the country to jump right into a football program somewhere else.

The coaches are by and large millionaires (even the lowest assistants make mid six figures) and the only impact to them is their reputations. Not their livelihoods, and not their futures.

What they need to do in these instances is permanently ban anyone even remotely involved from any future NCAA involvement, as well as add whistle blower protection and $2,000,000 paid over 10 years to anyone coming forth with evidence of player abuse, cheating, or player payments that results in an investigation finding guilt. You think Rick Pitino is going to keep paying players if he knows that any of his 50 underlings can rat him out at the drop of a hat for two million bucks and put him in jail? At least one or two of those guys working for Louisville or Ohio State makes $45,000 a year and is behind on his child support and mortgage. But guess what? You'll never have to make that payment because the Tim Beckmans and Rick Courts of the world won't do the shit they did.

Pro tip...

Hug your kids at every opportunity, teach them early and often not to hate people, and BOOM! You now have Sundays free to yourself without all the guiltscare from the hobgoblin in the sky, and no longer do you have to worry about Reverend McPervertface having "secret time" with your kids. It's a win-win for you and your children.

I know this is a hell of a useful piece of advice, but don't worry...I'd feel guilty charging you for it. This one's on me.

Well not to say that you are wrong, but keep in mind that this is experimental. At no point in greater human history has mankind been able to maintain a society without the eternal presence of a heavenly father. The next 100 years of growing American atheism will put this experiment to the test.

Europe has been, at bare minimum, trending strongly atheist for quite some time, far ahead of America. Frankly, most of Europe was post-Christianity before World War II, often questioning how the LORD could have ever allowed the pain and suffering of World War I. Let alone after World War II. Point is, take a look at Europe and you might see some of America’s future. Far be it for me to decide if it is positive or negative for anyone else.

Which is one reason why the denominations more predisposed to missionary work and evangelism have focused on third-world populations. Billions of unwashed masses out there.

I’ve always thought the death penalty should start four years out. Let the current students finish. Then the institution gets to anticipate its suffering...
