Oglesby out indefinitely...

Using the logic the Josh haters are, Jok should have his scolly revoked cause he plays terrible defense and missed ALL his 3pt shots in the exhibition game!

LOL, wut? Josh has played 2 full seasons. Jok hasn't even played an official college game yet. Yeah, good logic there by you...

That said, both sides have some good points in this thread. On the one hand, Josh has had 2 full seasons to get his 3-point % up and hasn't, but on the other hand, he could improve upon that, who knows for sure. So... why don't we give him a chance instead of being an *** and dogging on him?

Not to worry, just having a little fun with the Josh bashers out there! I think Peter will be a very good player once he plays defense to Frans liking.

Bet we see Uthoff at 2 for at least short periods of time now.

Good call on this.

I believe we saw Uthoff out there for a few mins playing the 2 last night.

I cant remember the exact lineup but he was the only logical person out there that would have been a 2.

Ogles by is an adequate defender, and much better than jok defensively right now. But let's be frank here, he was the second Worst 3 pt shooter in the entire country last year. That is bad. Really really bad. Horner had to do a lot more than just knock down shots and it is one thing to shoot poorly as a frosh. So bad example. I'm disappointed he is injured but am excited to see jok get more minutes to develop more quickly.

My guess is we may appreciate JO more when some two guard gets hot and we have no one who can begin to slow him down. I wasn't sure we had any defender who would be able to be that guy (like May was last year) before this injury. Now I'm getting pretty certain we don't have.

IMO we'll miss May and we"ll miss Josh.

Josh was never going to be a lockdown man 2 man defender like youre describing. In fact many are over valuing his defensive ability. Most of his minutes are played in a zone defense and he's fine there and having a 7 footer woody or shot blocking gabe behind a slow footed defender like josh is extremely helpful.

Josh isn't going to be all big ten but give hime credit for staying put when other schools like Illinois were offering him a ride? He came out with a statement about how it was important to stay loyal to build the program. He may not be putting up the numbers but he was a key leader in turning around the program.

Josh has a role in this program and it's to be a dead eye shooter and the truth is he hasn't filled that role well up I this point. I anticipated and even projected that his shooting percentages would improve this year.

I'm not just hating, but some try to argue that he is a good defender and while not bad, good is simply not true either.

Anyways, This injury is infortunate because I think he brings value but it was going to be with his outside shooting, not man to man D as the poster who I replied to was stating.

Never a good thing when your 3-pt specialist needs to see a shrink to get rid of jitters gametime, but i think he shoots better when he comes back, maybe 35-39%. Obviously a better a defender than Jok at this point, and rarely turns the ball over or makes a bonehead play, but I like that Jok isn't scared to shoot, even if they're not falling early on. He's (Jok) not going to see more than 15 minutes a night once we hit the thick of things, but he's not scared to pull the trigger, which Josh has had a problem with.
