Your brain just farted again. The left wants to get rid of patriotic trappings. They aren't fans of: Pledge of allegiance in school. National anthem. July 4th. The Boy Scouts. Military parades. etc.
Now Pride parades, they can't get enough of those. But anything that smacks of affection for the USA? No, you don't understand what both sides are about. One side would be happy if it was gone, the other side wouldn't.
