For some, seeing Iowa play like this just pisses them off even more that we couldn't close earlier deals.

I was at work listened to the radio for a while, heard Dolph say something like “looks like Iowa’s running game is in great shape” or something like that. Ok it was a feel good win, with the defense kicking ass as usual, but Illinois is clearly the bottom feeder of the Big Ten along with Rutgers. To say our rushing issues are over is not indicative of this season’s performance. If we can do this against Nebby and the bowl game I guess I’ll come around to Dolphin’s thinking. In every big game this year Iowa has struggled. Pasting the youngest team in division 1 football is not proof to me. Sorry to be such a Debby Downer, but I will not object to calling the defense Awesome!

I'm certainly happy that Iowa won, but I'm not going to get too wound up or make too many judgments based on a game against a U12 team.

I think most people who posted in this thread are putting this performance in it's proper perspective.

It sure beats the alternative-as well as the last three weeks.

Fitz is the Gene Keady of BIG football coaches. Keady had a spotty postseason record, never got to the final four he deserved, and his teams would sometimes look lethargic in December.

But get him in the familiar environs of the conference and he was in his element.
