At least Lackluster teams played D. This shit is embarrassing. Time for some coaching changes. If Fran doesn't go, he better be forced to shit-can some assistants.

nah, the team leader last year was Jok. looking back on it, i think he did a pretty good job. but what i'm saying is when iowa gets into one of these funks, there isn't someone taking charge mentally and focusing everyone on the floor. that can't come from the coach. has to be a player.

It is simple. Poor and incomplete recruiting has killed this team.
I think Fran likes to throw a bunch of schemes at the wall and sees if it sticks. I like that he is willing to play zone and man on defense. I like that he will use pressing schemes. I like that he is willing to run. But, the fundamentals of the schemes are so poorly executed/coached.
He got us out of the hole from Alford/Lick. But, I'm afraid he is the type of guy that is going to get his team to tourney once every 3-4 years (and out in the first or second round). And, this current squad, as it looks, will take at least that long.
I wonder how much more rope he is going to get in terms of years.

Yep. Can't expect the new coaches to just turn it around right away. Gotta give them at least 3 or 4 years.

Say what you want and Fran has won more Big Ten games than I ever will as a coach but this is truly pathetic. I won't name names but how many *##%$%#% TO's do we need to make before Fran realizes this team can't run track meet bball we are trending toward 20+ TO's again! How as a coach can you sit there and think that's the right approach.

Are you sure Fran is calling a set? This team doesn't exactly resemble a team that has been coached at all.

The fact that we are even giving Lick credit is so disheartening. I don't even want to go there, but Lick's teams look considerably better defensively. And they were ok at best.
