What i am afraid i have learned is that basabe may not be much better than last year. I really feel he is a huge key for us inside. 6 points in the paint is a joke, and if that trend continues, it could be a much longer year than we all hope for.

He plays like a freshman should play. It's going to take time for him to get stronger. The shockers played harder and seemed to want it more. If Marble shows up with his game an scores twenty then we win. Like I said after a previous win if Marble and Gesell don't score where is it going to come from. I am not shocked by this loss when looking at the previous three games.

You must be young or just not very familiar with the national basketball landscape. Wichita St is a well-known, very solid, high mid-major program. While they manhandled Iowa tonight, it's not a shameful loss.
 
No shame in losing this one. WSU is a good team. Hawks are young, and this is a learning experience for them. They competed tonight.
 
Not a shameful loss for Iowa.

It will be interesting to see if Mike G is enough of an impact on this team to overshadow the loss of Matt G.

After almost getting beat by Gardner Webb, losing to WSU, and playing a pretty poor game against Westen Kentucky... I would say the jury is still out.
 
this game confirms it, Iowa can't shoot. WSU was better than Iowa, but there's no excuse to get beat up and out hustled like they did tonight.
 
Wichita St is a good looking team. They take of the ball, have good size, and play hard.

That being said, this game was there for the taking. Iowa players made some good one on one moves but couldn't finish in close. Can't miss that many shots in the lane.
 
This is a good WSU team. I think Iowa can beat this team. Iowa couldn't really get into any rythem in the second half. Nights like this happen.

They have been a good team lately and were a 5 seed last year.

This is one of the most ignorant statements I've seen here. If this is what you think, just stop being a basketball fan, because you really suck at it. :mad:
 
Iowa shot 26% from the field, got outrebounded by 10, and had twice as many turnovers than assists. Ouch

The poor shooting is a big concern. If the BIG is as good as advertised and the shooting doesn't improve, uh oh.
