** Official Iowa vs Michigan Game thread **

It's a road loss to a very good Michigan team. It's not unexpected, much less is it the end of the world. Road wins are hard to come by in the BIG. I think we passed up way too many open, outside shots. Uthoff and Olesani played poorly.
Uthoff played 9 minutes and Olesani played 7. combined for 4 pts and 3 turnovers. That's the stat of the game. Not sure what Fran was thinking with the rotations tonite but I think we'd lose most games where Uthoff's/Olesani's minutes look like that.

As Fran says ... Hawks got "sideways". I expected / predicted the loss (77-70) but I don't like the deflated balloon feeling that this loss leaves me with. Michigan IS the better team. Which means, Iowa really isn't a top-10 team and is probably the 3rd or 4th best team in the B1G. That's not a knock, and is exactly where I expected Hawks to finish before the season began but I was starting to buy the hype and it was exciting to dream of the possibilities if they would have been able to make it through this proving week.

I'm working with Jon to get mod powers and I'll run these morons off if I get it.

Every team has a bad game during the course of the season, at least one. The most glaring example was the team from the Missouri Valley from Omaha that had Villanova down 40 points in the second half at Philadelphia. I did not expect to win the remainder of our games in the conference. I would not be surprised to see 2/3 more losses. Michigan appears to be the best team in the Big Ten right now, without McGary. There is a distinct possibility that Staukaus is the best player in the Big......

To be entirely truthful right now, Minnesota defeating Wisconsin tonight would take some of the unbearable pain away.....

Exactly. If Iowa only has 2-3 more losses I will be extremely happy.

There is no doubt that Jarryd was off tonight as were quite a few Hawks, in fact the team for the majority of the game, but Jarryd has been instrumental in the rest of the Big games that I have watched, at least most of them, no other bad games come to mind right now.....

6 more 3 pt shots made than we did. That's the only thing that stands out in the box score.

Stauskas and the Spike drove an oak stake through our hearts......

Actually Irvin hurt us more than Spike from three point range.....

The stats are rather even.....

The simply took us out of our game....

We looked lost and awkward a large part of the game.....
