Official Iowa State vs Tulsa Game Thread

This game is really going to help our Strength of Schedule when the BCS Championship Game make its selections.

I do not know why I keep watching this very well played game. I guess it's like a car wreck. You shouldn't look but you really would like to see them get there a$$ stomped. Creepy clowns!

You would think that they just beat a really good team with the way they are talking after beating Tulsa

I'm surprised. I just talked to one of my co-workers who is an ISU fan and he told me that he has already given up on this year's team. Thinks they are going to get spanked by Texas.

I don't know a single ISU fan that thinks this. That Tulsa team was bad. Very bad. ISU is looking at 4-8 at best but likely more like 3-9 unless Rhoads upsets someone.

LOL.............look how many on this board said that "Iowa looks more like a bowl team" after they beat up a horrible team last Saturday.

Why do you say they don't? They played a crappy team, beat up the crappy team, and won by 56 points. Iowa finally did exactly what they were supposed to do. Had they won by a close score then it would make sense to say that they did not look like a bowl team.

They did look "more" like a bowl team, than they did before the game, did they not?

Personally, my definition of "looks like a bowl team" fir this year is 6-7 wins. The next two weeks will either bolster or wain that opinion.

I see very few thinking this squad is more than a 6-7 win team and most are reserving opinion until after the next 2, if there lies any justification for believing 7+ is possible.

None of this is even close to isu fans thinking that 6 wins is even worthy of a pipe dream.

Can't wait for Cody Green on Gruden's QB camp this Spring, looking at film of throwing multiple interceptions and fumbling snaps against ISU.

yeah, all the ISU fans i talked to today were ready to move on to b-ball. they weren't impressed.

I am not quite ready to move on to basketball but I am darn close. I just don't see ISU getting 5 wins in conference play but crazier things have happened. We beat a **** team last night and looked better than the previous 2 games we played, but we beat a wet turd sandwhich. If Rashad Vaughn commits to ISU I will be fully focused on bball.

If the Hawks lose one or both of the next two...many Hawk fans will be diverting the attention to the fighting Frans as well. Not sayin...just sayin.

Honestly I wouldn't blame either fan base. Both teams are improving but really are not that good. Iowa does have a better shot at some lower tier bowl game at this point though.

Look...unless I'm looking to get a maximum yield next year on some significant cash crop...or I have a commercial livestock operation... I'm not interested in anything somebody from Ames says.

Period.

The most games Paul Rhodes has won in conference play in the 4 years he's been in Ames is 3 games.

Being a bowl team isn't exactly an otherworldly achievement...getting to 6 wins is all it takes. We're halfway there and definitely have a soft schedule, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.

"But...but...but...Oklahoma! Texas! Kansas State! Baylor! Oklahoma State! They're all soooo good, getting 3 wins means we're a really really good team you guys!"

You can't say you are a good team just because you beat up a horrible team.
