Really impressed with JO tonight. Last two or three games may be the best stretch of his career.
You ask and you shall receive. 14 points, 7 assists, and 5 steals.
i always chuckle when people say Clemmons is a better defender than gesell. It shows they don't understand basketball.
but clemmons has been playing better too. Liked that gabe showed up tonight. I will take this team over last year's team. I know psu isn't good but sometimes you have to win games ugly and iowa did and they have a lot more toughness late in games than they did last year.

He was great tonight, the offense fell apart when as soon as he went out. White, Gesell and JO all stepped up big tonight

White, Gesell, Gabe and Ogs, Uthoff all stepped up big time. Made our FTs down the stretch. That's the kind of gutty win we need. I love it!

Offense usually runs better with him. Clemmons doesn't move the ball very well on offense. He dribbles too much without going anywhere. He has done a better job as of late but gesell makes the team go.

Agreed. At some point he was calling for the ball from the corner. I thought that was a good sign because he has passed up many shots this year. It's good to see him wanting the ball.
White's steal was unreal. Then the FT's were cold blooded.
He basically just decided, "I'm not letting us lose this game."
Also, Oges must sense the end of his playing days, because he's hitting shots. And gabe was in double figures again.
I feel like the seniors are channeling that part in Rocky II where Rocky says, "I ain't goin down no more."

clemmons has played well lately.. but he does not dribble the ball like a division 1 guard.. he looks like a 7th grader dribbling.
Wow.... just wow. There were a bunch of stretches where I thought Iowa had no business winning that game. They just didn't seem to deserve it. Getting PSU in foul trouble and into the bonus early helped so much. They didn't/couldn't play with quite the same aggressiveness on D because of that. Between knocking down just about all their free throws (thanks Mr White) and then open shots it was what kept us in the game.
Rebounding was pretty bad at times. We have a couple guys with some big numbers but certainly not timely ones that would have helped win it easier in either regulation or OT. But a win is a win. The committee won't ask how you won but did you. If we can run the table and get that 2 rd bye in the BIG tourny I'll be pretty tickled.

Yes! That's all I've wanted to see from Josh for most of this year was just that he wanted to take the shot. He was looking for it tonight and didn't stop after he missed two in a row. Don't win this one without him.

We have plenty of pretty losses with Frans program. Like you said all that matters is the W.
We have to beat NW at home and if we do we are in the tourney for certain.
Winning record in B1G and chance for 11 or 12 wins.

Gesell isn't exactly the 2nd coming of John Stockton, but you can see the light bulb is coming on. The confidence is there, he realizes now he can play at this level.

I am amazed at the end of regulation on Iowa's missed shot that the Penn State player could plant a forearm in Gabe's back and push him 3 feet and it's a no call. The player must have been really sure the ref's wouldn't call it because one made fee throw would have ended it. That was a horrible no call!
Great game coming back and winning when things werent going their way.
Uthoff not shooting well second half.
Was Woody taking no-dose. wow he had a tough game.
I would like to see the Gabe dunk miss again to see if got a pushed a little.

How do we get 9 fouls on our bigs and Dickerson & Travis play the whole game. Those guys fouled the entire game!

I saw that, too, and wondered out loud WTF???? My wife didn't appreciate that. Still, it was a call that should have been made. It would have been, I suspect, by the Illanoy -Iowa crew.

Had to watch on a 2 hour delay. Glad I could watch it quick on DVR. Also glad I didn't follow the game thread.
Tough, gutty game. PSU shot really well "shocker" and killed us on the offensive glass, but what a great win.
Screw it, Let's win out and win the whole damn thing! Ok, Just kidding....Although I think this win puts us in The dance.
