IOWA-NEBRASKA MEN’S BASKETBALL GAME MOVED TO SATURDAY AFTERNOON

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The University of Nebraska and University of Iowa athletic departments, in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference, announced Tuesday afternoon that the men’s basketball game between Iowa and Nebraska scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 21, has been moved to Saturday, Feb. 23, at 1 p.m. (CT) at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

The move was prompted by the winter storm expected to hit the upper Midwest on Wednesday and Thursday, and was announced in advance for the safety of student-athletes, fans and game-day personnel. Saturday’s date was available for both teams, as Thursday’s scheduled matchup was the only game of the week for both Iowa and Nebraska.

Fans who had purchased tickets for the originally scheduled Thursday game can use those tickets for Saturday’s contest. As a reminder, all ticket backs note that days and times are subject to change. In addition, tickets remain for Saturday’s rescheduled game with prices at $10 and $15.

The game was originally scheduled to be on ESPN2, and television information for Saturday’s rescheduled game will be announced as soon as it becomes available

Yeah, TV will be interesting..

They better have the game on TV, hate having to listen to it on the radio.

the announced time of 1:00 p.m., ESPN would definitely be out as they have live events already scheduled at the time. BTN has a woman's game scheduled for 1:00, so I would be surprised if they bump that for Iowa-Nebraska for political and logistics reasons.

At this point we'll be fortunate if it's on BTN2GO or Watch ESPN

I do not understand why they picked the 1 pm start if BTN or ESPN cannot cover it.
Ummmmm...you don't think that ESPN and BTN were already booked solid with previously scheduled programming for both days? Do you think they keep random 2hr blocks of programming available for just such an occasion? Perhaps you think they should play the game at 2AM when there is an available timeslot?

Im sure their is flexibility to move the tip if there are TV issues.

If so a quick glance at the BTN schedule shows an opening at 11 am, they could have checked with BTN before announcing a 1 pm tipoff.

This is such a huge game for Iowa, and I am sure Nebraska is looking forward to it. Here the B1G has their own network and they cannot get a rivalry conference game televised.

On Mediacom channel, 829, they usually show SportsCenter over and over. Sometimes when a game on the other ESPN channels is running late, they show the upcoming game on the SportsCenter Channel until the late game is over. They might show Iowa/Nebraska on that channel.......

Otherwise I am going to find a pirate station.....

Actually all we have to do is hold home court and we finish 9-9 and will go dancing. A win in the Big Ten Tournament would cement the issue.....

:(

Agreed. You would think they would come to an agreement with television for a tip time. Maybe they did and the networks told them to **** off. Who knows.......
