Marble and May played great! Enough can't be said about the job Woody did on Zeller defensively tonight. Sure Zeller scored alot, but Woody held his own against him.
 
The half court referee called Zach out of bounds. The baseline referee pointed in Iowa's direction and we were heading downcourt......

Olapedo was out of bounds on the steal sliding out of bounds on the sideline at a very important time of the game, during the comeback......
 
I personally an not going to blame this loss on McCabe, Oglesby, or Olaseni......

It was a team effort in every way......

I would love to hear Fran's comments on the calls.....

Why do my allergies always seem to kick in during "The Journey"...it never used to happen when it was only about The Zooker and Illini Football...:(

actually see this is exactly what I said in my original post.... they play hard but not smart.

Hustle is good of course - but its also the intelligence and awareness to realize where you are on the court.

Mcabe looked like he had no clue that he was stepping on the line (I just watched it again on the DVR to see if I was goin crazy - ya okay hustle - he kind of half assed ran and then looked like he had no clue where he was standing.

So yeah kind of I guess

It was also a huge turnover 2 min left and they were up by 11 - was our last chance after that more time ran off the clock and we were down by 13.

I'm sure it changed our win percentage from about 6% to 5%
 
Just got back and saw like the last 30 seconds. How bad was the officiating in this game? am struck by the fact that Iowa ATTEMPTED 5 fewer free throws than Indiana made. Huge disparity: Hokks 17-24 from the line, Hosers 29-42. Take away Ferell's late 3, the teams were dead even from the floor. This was was lost (or won, depending on your perspective) from the charity line.

Don't want to be Debbie Downer but I really dont expect to see Mikey back on the floor this year. Not holding my breath -- doesn't sound like Fran is, either.

Fran has said this many times btw - so I guess he doesn't know what he is talkin bout either when he says we need to play smarter.

Youth may be a problem but we will see - certainly hope so but no guarentee
 
This just in. Gesell gone for the year. It's now a combination of Marble and Clemons at point and Marble, Josh, May and Clemons in some kind of combination. ( patrick i can spell still spell for a minute or 2)

Fran can still work this line-up and over all depth of White, Mel, Woody, Gabe and ZACH who is a wild card.

Again with this team they can go deep in any tournament... esp B1G with those painful loses and then any where in America where the opponents have no idea. Get well Mikey. please God no more injuries/illnesses.
