OFFICIAL** I can't go to the spring game and need Updates Thread.

Radio only covered the first half, and it is not up on btn2go I dislike btn more and more every day for sure. From what I could tell, the defense was really playing well Jordan Lomax was doing great at safety, and Jallel Johnson was really stepping up on the D-line. On offense Iowa Western transfer Andrew Stone was having a great game. Maybe he could be a dark horse at wide receiver.

John Kenny was very impressive today. He stepped into Alston's position once he tweaked his leg. Iowa continued to use Mark with outside zone plays. TEs were targeted a lot, and each TE showed off their different skill sets. Hamilton impressed me on offense with his combination of blocking skills and route running. He showed off some speed with the TD. Willies. Wow. He has a similar frame to Hillyer with better acceleration and speed. Iowa was able to use him over the top and underneath. The QBs were really inconsistent. Nic really has some zip to his ball, and he can move around the pocket well. I'd give the nod to Fleming at this point at the second corner. Also, Law had a solid day in the secondary. For one third down package, Law came in for a linebacker and lined up next to our DE. Lomax has a good feel for the FS position. He showed good instincts on a HB wheel route by breaking it up quickly. The front 7 for our defense was really impressive. A couple busted coverages, but it's only spring.

It's days like this that my rarely used twitter acct comes in handy. I follow more hose, Jon Howe, gamefim, vint, and others.

Please tell me that you were just joking about the stretch zone read plays to Weisman.

My gawd, seriously? Greg Davis just likes giving up a play to the defense? I guess Kirk does like to keep things as close as possible usually...

Not joking, the first running play was stretch left with weisman.

Most of the running plays in the first half went wide and most got ate up.

The second half most running plays were more straight ahead and more positive yardage.

I would suggest you get used to it... The big run by Wiseman to the goal line vs Nebraska, and then the touchdown after Canzeri got it to the goal line were both outside runs by Weisman. In fact Mark wMorshouse broke down the runs after the season lots of good zone stretch runs by Mark

Just sayin'

Oh yes, weisman has some great outside runs but I would like to see him but more of them up early off tackle when he sees opponent jerseys on the outside.

Yes I agree with that, I think many times the seam is up inside. The one thing he could really improve on this vision… His vision is better than bullocks but probably not as good as Canzeris.., Canzeri on his part still needs to pick up his feet and run more physically through the hole

With the depth/speed/talent we have @ DB, I hope we see more of that blitz package (what did they call it? I'd like the "swarm package") we used with 7 stand up defenders flooding in... we had Nebraska's o-line and QB wetting themselves.

Would you share the link to morehuses breakdown? That is something that I was very curious about. Thanks
