OFFICIAL** I can't go to the spring game and need Updates Thread.

I would suggest you get used to it... The big run by Wiseman to the goal line vs Nebraska, and then the touchdown after Canzeri got it to the goal line were both outside runs by Weisman. In fact Mark wMorshouse broke down the runs after the season lots of good zone stretch runs by Mark

Just sayin'

This! Fans tend to remember the times that it doesn't work, and think it never works. However it can work. If they can rip off 4–6 yards; and if the Hammer can break some tackles and get 10–12+ yards, then I say run it. Let us not forget a couple of years ago when the Hebrew Hammer would make bread with that run play, simply by breaking tackles/rolling defenders!

I will say vs fast/talented defenses (ie MSU or LSU) it is difficult to watch it get snuffed out, time and time again

This.

Fans are ignorant. Weisman has had quite a few very nice runs off the outside zone play. It's common sense by the coaches to run that direction because you have possibly the best LT in football leading the way. When Weisman is able to get some steam rolling and square his shoulders up it's a guaranteed 5 or more yard gain. In order for him to do that it requires a nice push by his blockers so he can square his shoulders and turn it up field. When the blockers get pushed back or the defense extends the play to the sidelines then they can catch Weisman running sideways or without momentum. That's when it looks ugly. Teams like MSU and LSU had the talent to withstand a push by the blockers on the left side. The good news is I don't see any teams on the Hawks schedule this year who have that kind of talent up front.

AJ Jones looks very lean but fast and tall also. Between Willies, Jones, Mitchell and Harris, we have 4 frosh WR's who will be good players...explosive players.

Solomon Warfield looked good late in the scrimmage...nice athlete at safety.

Dillon Kidd beat Kornbrath on the day....liked what I saw from Kidd...really turns the ball over and gets a spiral that can cut thru the wind better than Conner.

Ike Boetgger is going to be very good at left tackle in a year or so...very athletic but with a great frame for adding muscle.

How ironic would it be if Ike becomes the next 1st Rd draft pick LT for Iowa.....and not his HS teammate.
