1) get his minutes out of the way, early, with the other starters on the floor to compensate;
2) his B-squad shift change means at least one of the regular producers has to stay on the floor to avoid complete dilution of the offense.

Losing Gesell has an impact on May's role in the rotation, which is who would typically come in for White. They're going to need May more at the 2 tonight than usual.
